Yeah, I don't care how people vote but I don't know how anyone can still swallow the line that the tories can handle the economy...no-deal Brexit is practically policy for them and years of austerity hasn't done anything to reduce the deficit. The tories we have today are not what they once were.

The tories look after the people that have, because that also protects their own interests. So other people that are well off will vote for them. You can't blame people that haven't seen what reality really is for other members of society for not understanding their issues. That works both ways.

The majority of tory voters will not have used food bank, or had a problem with universal credit that has meant they have gone hungry, or have been affected by the bedroom tax. I haven't been affected by those issues either, but I do know people that have been. It's very easy, if you don't know them, to write those people off as wasters or scroungers, and put the blame on them rather than the system, when the reality is they are usually hard working people that have fallen between the cracks.

The tories are no better at balancing the books than the Labour Party, despite people believing that they are due to their austerity budget. The national debt has risen significantly since they got into power.

Fwiw I won't be voting Tory or Labour. Other parties are available.

People know what they see. Some people haven't ever seen what it's like to really have nothing.

Yes fair point. Our town is a marginal seat between current Tory twat and Lib Dem. Labour haven’t got in here for many many years. I think the Tory guy will be ousted this time because of his voting record in parliament.

I now feel compelled to add a caveat that I do believe certain members of society should be provided for by the government even if they are a minority, so I would understand the flipped argument that we have some obligation towards others.
