To me it looks like a clubbing outfit at best.

Evening reception only? Possibly. Possibly wouldn’t wear it to (say) a church service for example. But then I’m not young enough to wear it anyway so...!!

CallMeRachel Tue 22-Oct-19 12:20:46

Crikey! Lady of the night comes to mind!!

Totally inappropriate for a wedding imo.

I actually don't know where that could be worn to without raising an eyebrow or two.

pinkyredrose Tue 22-Oct-19 12:20:53

Yeah why not!

TulipsTulipsTulips Tue 22-Oct-19 12:22:05

Yes you would BU

Digitalash Tue 22-Oct-19 12:22:20

I wouldn't wear it because I'd look ridiculous but if you can pull it off I don't see why not.

Rightyoh Tue 22-Oct-19 12:22:43

Thank god I asked!! Online shopping next!

LimpidPools Tue 22-Oct-19 12:23:23

What part of the country? What venue? What do people usually wear OP?

But my first reaction was dear God, you can't wear that.

inwood Tue 22-Oct-19 12:23:25

Totally inappropriate!

A friend got married last year. All the young women there were wearing similar style dresses. Bride was 25 so young friend base.

DriftingLeaves Tue 22-Oct-19 12:24:45

Why would you wear a nightie? wink

DanceWithThePoets Tue 22-Oct-19 12:25:22

Is it a Halloween themed wedding?

DanielRicciardosSmile Tue 22-Oct-19 12:25:24

I wouldn't, it looks a bit like a nightie.

DonKeyshot Tue 22-Oct-19 12:25:32

Do you usually wear a nightie to weddings? If so, crack on. If not, don't start now.

circlesandquares Tue 22-Oct-19 12:25:35

Sorry, I don't think this a suitable dress for a wedding reception.

ThatMuppetShow Tue 22-Oct-19 12:26:01

Are you popping out of the cake, or just dancing on the bar?

DanielRicciardosSmile Tue 22-Oct-19 12:26:02

@DriftingLeaves snap!

embarassednewname Tue 22-Oct-19 12:27:16

Evening party, yes depending on the crowd and venue. Don’t wear that to church!!

ThatMuppetShow Tue 22-Oct-19 12:28:25

I wouldn't wear it because I'd look ridiculous but if you can pull it off I don't see why not.

I tell you why not , in case you don't see. The rule of any wedding, day or night, is that you don't try to overshadow the bride - it just makes you looking like a complete twat. It 's not the time to try to pull off what you think is a sexy outfit.

There are hundreds of flattering clothes you can wear, a nightie is not appropriate.

NearlyGranny Tue 22-Oct-19 12:28:55

Not black for a wedding. People will think you're in mourning because you aren't marrying the bride or groom yourself!

Rightyoh Tue 22-Oct-19 12:29:22

It’s only the evening. I will be saving this one for another more appropriate occasion!
