Just been released

assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/831199/20190802_Latest_Yellowhammer_Planning_assumptions_CDL.pdf

And I wonder what Number 15 is. It's been redacted.

So much to highlight:

Impact of food and fuel prices on poorer people.
Impact exacerbated due to winter flu issues at that time of year
Lorries delayed and flow reduced to 40 - 60%

And I'm only on page 1

Number 15 is related to refineries apparently. They’re treated as sensitive for security purposes

Number 6 goes through the impact on medicines.

75% of medicines come via Dover

Is this fact or war gaming worse case scenarios?

If I had to guess it would be related to the security services or about the sharing of information about crimes with EU countries?! It's probably redacted to reduce terrorism risks.

Also an impact on medicines for animals...and an impact on potential outbreaks.

Reasonable worst case scenarios.....

Apparently the same document was Base scenario when it was leaked.

According to twitter, this is the redacted bit

to ask you to read Operation Yellowhammer documents and see for yourself how Brexit will impact you

I think it all sounds fantastic, if it were the plot to a dystopian fantasy.

The fact that it could detail the future of our country is truly terrifying.

It’s all going to be totally fine. Bigly fine.

I just hope to fuck we don’t have Actual War in my country again.

My Brexit Solution: offer the unionists a gaff on “the mainland”, have EU comp a lot of bills, UK pay into a fund for the colonialism, and there we are

From the document leaked to the Sunday Times number 15 is:
15. Facing EU tariffs makes petrol exports to the EU uncompetitive. Industry had plans to mitigate the impact on refinery margins and profitability but UK Government policy to set petrol import tariffs at 0% inadvertently undermines these plans. This leads to significant financial losses and announcement of two refinery closures (and transition to import terminals) and direct job losses (about 2000). Resulting strike action at refineries would lead to disruptions to fuel availability for 1-2 weeks in the regions directly supplied by the refineries

Why did the British government not talk about deals and trash out consequences BEFORE the vote? Talk of deals or not should have been almost completed before a vote. Why allow a vote to happen, agree to leave the EU and then start to the whinge about not getting what they want...

Customer behaviour could lead to shortage in some areas.

Remember how quickly the UK fell apart when we had the petrol tanker strike?

Don't think it has uploaded. From Twitter: "It's about refineries and loss of 2,000 jobs in the sector due to 0% tariff on petrol imports. Resulting strikes to cause petrol shortages in some areas."

Section 18 basically states how fucked up the border will be in Ireland / Northern Ireland and all the issues around that.

Why did the British government not talk about deals

Many prominent Leavers said that this would be the easiest deal in history and there was no way that we'd end up with No Deal.

I am seriously concerned about the medicine shortages. Some of my family will die without it and my chronic condition will worsen and could leave me disabled

Don’t worry, it’s gonna be great. We’ll be first in the queue for a trade deal with the good ole USofA. They said so. Or the back of the queue?
Well, it was one of those anyway.

20 - it just says that there will be an impact on the social care system that is already fucked up due to increased staff and supply costs, leading to failure of smaller and larger providers within 4 - 6 months.

Also in the news today

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-49655201

List of Bills that have been dropped due to the prorogation of parliament. This includes bills that help negate the problems in fishing due to no deal, domestic abuse, making divorce easier.

Bills can be carried over to the next parliament but the government has decided not to move these. However the vitally important bill that prepares for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games was carried over.

It's genuinely appalling that this government thinks that preparing for the Commonwealth Games is more important than the domestic abuse bill.
