Ah, the simple pleasures in life. Music. Birdsong. Friends and family. Condensed milk.

[passes spoon]

I have taken to buying it in squirty bottles so I don't end up 'finishing off' half-eaten cans quite so often.

You and my dh can sit there in your sticky-faced guilt together. I went to my mums for five days and he ate two cans. TWO. [and he wasn't sick]

Just out of interest - where did the other half go?

I know Spawn - he is a filthy sugar whore.

I didn't think he knew where I kept them - this is not his first offence.....

Make tablet.

And assorted puddings that required eating in one sitting.

Or just boil it, in the unopened can, for yum caramel sauce.

But mostly, eat it from the can, you're right.

what, you eat it out of a can ? isn't that a bit gross ? I always want to buy a tin but never know what to do with it (apart from banoffee pie and now that comes ready boiled in the tin)

Condensed milk? Out of a can?

Arfishy confesses to secret milk of magnesia fetish. I feel my tastes are perhaps more savoury.

Enjoy! [feels queasy]

Melt 1/2 lb butter/marg ( I use butter, in for a penny...)in a pint of water in a non-stick pan. (V. important, that bit)

Add (prepare yourself) 4lbs of sugar.

Stir like billy-o so it doesn't catch

Once it's boiling, add the condensed milk, simmer for about 20 mins, keep stirring.

Then (this is where you sweat off some calories in preparation for eating) take off the heat and beat it and beat it and beat it for at least five minutes. You can add flavourings at this stage - vanilla, peppermint, etc if wanted.

Chuck it in a greased tin, and if you want it in regular shapes, cut it when it's partly cooled.

Enjoy. Your arms will hurt for near a year, though.

And you'll gain a stone.

1 can of devil's brew (I think it's about 400g but I can't check as we are, temporarily, depleted)

Mrs Badger, I have RSI here, wracking my brains not to leave anything out.

When will I learn to use the technology?
