YANBU for most of the population but if this is your neighbour YABU as normal rules don't apply to her, she is deranged !

dh snatched the shears off me the other day complaining that I was pruning the hedge all wrongn (I was doing it rather girlishly, and rose-bush like).

can see how it would be annoying though. you should keep a model goat, some rope and some flowers near the window for such occasions. give her a reason to be nosy!

Personally, I prune my hedge with something slightly smaller than garden shears, a pair of nail scissors or the like. Too much potential for damage with a pair of Wilkinson Swords. I have never yet asked DH to attend to my bush for me though, SenoraP... <looks thoughtful>.
