There's a lot of nervousness around about Mueller time... especially as he's been told he cannot say one word outside of what's in the Report.

and

www.vox.com/2019/7/22/20704273/trump-mueller-testimony-watch-a-little-bit-lies
'Trump talked about Mueller’s testimony for around 90 seconds. He packed in 6 lies.'

He must be rattled

So it's Boris after all. This is going to be interesting.

At least he isn't Trump.

Thanks for the thread Roussette.

At least he isn't Trump

Honest Across he's Trump with an Eton education. There are far too many similarities to list.
Those who've worked with him say he is very lazy...and doesn't like reading detailed reports....

Oh dear. I didn't realize there were so many similarities in their backgrounds!

Will he be as overtly racist as Scrotus? I usually think of Farage as overtly racist, but Johnson as being less 'race-baity to get what he wants'. Does that make sense? Johnson won't stir up race-hatred to get supporters like Scrotus does.

I guess I see Johnson as being 'pro-Upper Class' as far as the UK's social safety net (which we really don't have much of to begin with), but will he also do the same as Trump; tearing down regulation so he and his robber baron buddies can rape natural resources and working people via wages & union busting?

The UK UC and the US UC are two different sets of people in my mind. Our UC is completely money-based. I think of the UK UC as being more about heritage as opposed to just having money. You can easily buy your way into our UC. I wouldn't think it would be so easy to do so in the UK.

Or do I watch too much Downton and read too much Austen?

Well... he is known as a racist pr1ck and this article sums it up...
(I don't want to derail this Trump thread though)
There is a lot of dismay from a lot of people at today's result.

I can't imagine what BoJo is actually going to DO! He is extremely light on detail ! He calls the process of Brexit 'the hamster wheel of doom'. He's full of witty one liners like that. No substance though.

Wow! That article is certainly enlightening. And frightening. I will be watching closely the 'special relationship' between Scrotus and BoJo.

Just be very very glad that the UK as the 'vote of no confidence'. Seems much simpler and more streamlined than impeachment.

The USAToday article says "Independents are on the fence overall," said Lee Miringoff, director of the Marist Institute for Public Opinion at Marist College. "They're not willing to grant President Trump reelection, and yet they're not persuaded by Democrats at this point."

This is so true. And it's why the Democratic candidate needs to be a more 'moderate' Democrat. We aren't going to get to the WH on Democrat voters alone. Because of the Electoral College we need the Independent voters in many states, a good number of whom lean right in swing states. And they aren't going to vote for someone with 'radical' ideas even if they are good ideas. We need them to vote Dem, not just abstain from voting rather than vote for Scrotus.
