and go to sleep before 11.30pm..

He's 9 weeks old and the last few nights although he's had lots to drink in the day just has 1 or 2oz of a bottle, then stayed awake, another 1 or 2oz 45 minutes or so later and stayed awake until gone 11 all evening.......

He's been awake (apart from a 15 minute nap 1/2hr ago) since 6.30pm and I'm tired (and want a vodka and apple juice

YABU

not really....you poor thing...those first few month are just so darn hard, aren't they.
You know it will get better, even if it doesn't feel that way right now.
Have that Vodka and applejuice anyway....will relax you...might relax your lil one, too!
Could it be a growthspurt or devellopemental "spurt", they can have such adverse effects on sleeping pattern, can't they?

lol - yes they are pretty hard - but this time once he's settled (and DH will take over once he gets in and has had his dinner - so around 10.30pm - until 4am ) I'm not feeling as stressed as I was with DS2, and not even as remotely stressed as I was with DS1. The benefit of hindsight is allowing me to remind myself (and believe it this time) that it will get better........it's just while I'm waiting for "handover" it's 'ard.

It's certainly a "spurt" of some sort I can vouch for that . Last few weeeks he's been settled by about 9.30 at the latest (sometimes earlier) so I get some "me" time (all 3 asleep and DH still out at work) - and I want it back.

I would have the Vodka and Apple juice now - except I want to save it until I've finished tidying up the aftermath of cooking dinner .

Right better go he's crying again (I "abandoned" him in his bouncy chair )

YOu rotten mum.....abondening him in the chair, whilest you sort the kitchen....well, hoping for you that your dh won't be to long now and that you get your break...must admit, with me it was the ohter way around....ys was a little horror and I was a nervous wreck with him...as I just didn't get him....so, no matter how much I told myself that it would get better, I never believed it myself, lol...

btw...wasn't it you, not all that long ago that found out about this pg and wasn't, at first so sure how he felt(as it wasn't planned)...if so....wow, I can't believe the little one is already 9 weeks old....if I got the wrong person, I do apologise....!

yep that was me - if you didn't know he was so totally opposed to having a no.3 (so much so that he wanted me to terminate) you'd NEVER guess it - he ADORES him and spoils him rotten (I know you can't really spoil a baby this young but he manages it )

Lol, I thought it was you...but one gets confused, and all that...
and I do remember your oh being not quite in favour...glad he did come around to it! Well, by the sounds of it he came more then just around to it
Me and dh had recently an argument about this...only a hypothetical scenario... what if I was gonna fall pg dispite contraception and he was so quick to tell me, I would abort, because we had both clearly stated we don't want no more Kids (which is true....) however, he was not happy when I told him that, if I should fall pg I really wouldn't know....men can't understand that that somehow might be a whole different kettle of fish....

hm...if I am also remembering correctly you aren't all that far away from us... (see my profile)....

ok so I popped him in the carrycot (he just screamed at me when I offered a bottle and just wanted to chomp on the breast - ermm no thanks it hurts LOL) and came up here he screamed for a few minutes....but it's all gone quiet......dare I go downstairs and see if he's asleep.....and more importantly do you think I should make an effort to finish tidy up the kitchen

well I have to go and put the pushchair chasis away anyhow (which will take me through the kitchen) as it takes up all the space in the hall and althohgh DH hasn't complained on the rare occasions I've not put it away I think he'd prefer not to have an obstacle course to negotiate before gets into the lounge

ooops sorry for disappearing last night - DH walked through the door earlier than expected and the place still looked like a bomb site.

DS3 slept until about 2.30 (I think - still to confirm time with DH).
