AIBU?

To think that flouncers on MN are just arrogant f*ckwitages who ought to bloody grow up?

If you don't like what's in a thread, don't post on it. There are lots of others.

By flouncing you are just showing that you are needy. Why not just post: 'ooh please beg me not to leave and say how much you'll miss me' instead?

Not every bloody thing in the world is about you. Honestly, sometimes people just have different opinions. It's something grown ups do.

For me, the only response to a threat to flounce is: 'don't let the door hit you on the way out'.

Flouncers, you are only just slightly better than pretend flouncers who threaten to leave and then 'decide to stay' later on in the thread. I have scorn for you both but I will actually mock the latter mercilously every time I see your subsequent posts.

Consider yourselves berated.

Go girl! I totally second your opinion. FLouncers - if you don't like a trhead, ignore it. If you want a break from MN because everyone else is horrible/cliquey/stupid/refuses to tell you how wonderful your most witless postings are, take a break. But don't expect anyone else to give a fuck.

No, most flouncers are people who are feeling hurt, threatened, tearful and out of control, because they/something/someone they care passionately about has (in their eyes) been trashed.

Quite often they calm down and change their minds, hence the ignoble "revolving-door flounce" most of us have had to endure, with concomitant piss-taking

Sometimes they don't.

Are you thinking of someone in particular?

Thanks Dior - but I think wine might make this worse!

No-one flounced. They just annoy me when they do. This comes from here

I did that once, left mn for a bit, came back and learned from my mistake.

Sheherazadethegoat - I imagine they put on flouncey shirts and stout boots to stomp out.

Stubborness is a much better trait. Stick it out to the end and flog a dead horse against the wrath of mn.

greensleeves sometimes yes but sometimes people do flounce to put themselves in the right iynwim

that thread's been deleted?

I do find that it depends on who it is doing the flouncing as to the response they get. If it's a regular, well respected poster, then they get cries of "oh what's happened" but if it's a less well liked poster they get "well fuck off then".

Does a vodka induced flounce count tho
