What's your go-to on the nights where you don't have the energy to do a big meal?

Fish fingers, carrots and peas, pasta with some pasata and chopped tomatoes, beans on toast or scrambled eggs on toast. Simple and quick!

Honestly if they have had a school dinner , I just plate up random bits eg crackers, cheese cubes, ham, cucumbers, tomatoes, sliced apple and yogurt.

Pasta and sauce, egg or cheese on toast or dippy egg, sandwich with chopped carrot and cucumber on side. They've been been known to make themselves a pot noodle when I'm busy can't be arsed

Fish fingers or chicken goujons and waffles. Pasta with bolognaise I have in the freezer, Omelettes, baked beans on toast, toasted sandwich. Bought it frozen soup and crusty bread, I do a cheats katsu curry with ready made breaded chicken and sauce and a pouch of microwaveable rice.

White sauce pasta with tinned sweetcorn inside. Takes 20 mins to make from scratch (15 if you can actually operate a tin opener without injuring yourself lol)

Fried eggs, omelette or tinned mackerel with pasta and veg. Super speedy and they think it's a treat!

Domino’s. Ha actually try and convince one of the kids (14 and 15) to cook! They are getting quite a repertoire of dishes between them and good to know they won’t starve when on their own!

Pasta or microwave some rice and chuck some salad / veg / cheese whatever is in the fridge on it . Also leftovers from 1-3 nights before usually goes down well . Eventually the dog gets a look in .

There are usually leftovers in the fridge from day before, but if there isn’t, it would be poached egg and beans on toast or fish fingers, or tin of soup!

Easy peasy cheesy pasta. Boil pasta & peas, drain, stir in grated cheese, serve. It's actually my DC's favourite meal!

Tonight they're having an entree of 'Mum has had a gutsful', thus contributing to a main of 'whatever your father provides'. Dessert will be 'it will be interesting how long it takes for a few people to get the hint that normal service has been suspended'.

I suspect it will be takeout rather than the yummy home-made maccy cheese I was going to make. Or Dad will make it. Just to make the point. . .
