To ask WTH happened to me?

Hi mumsnetters
The weirdest thing happened to me last night and I'm hoping to get some reassurance or guidance on what it could be.
So I'm about to go to bed but realise I have forgotten to take the clothes from the washing machine out.
I'm getting to the kitchen and my legs start feeling really heavy like I'm about to faint. I decide to not take any risk and lie down on the kitchen floor. My whole body feels heavy. I call my oldest daughter (14) to help me stand. I try to get up but I literally feel like I'm weighing 200 tonnes
Even talking feels difficult
She encourages me to sit but my left side feels even heavier than the rest of my body so every time I manage to sit I fall down on my left side. I end up soiling myself and somehow manage to stand and shower. I then go to the toilet and bang my head on the sink my entire body weight seems to be going toward my left
I ended up managing to go to bed with the help of my oldest child but I'm freaking out. What was that? Why couldn't I lift my body up? Shall I see a gp tomorrow?
TiA

How are you now?

I'm no expert but that sounds like the symptoms of a stroke. You should have had an ambulance called but since you didn't I'd get to a hospital asap to be thoroughly checked over.

Call 111 or just go straight to A&E!

You need to seek urgent medical attention. You should have called 999 last night.

You should definitely see your doctor, but you might be wise to call an ambulance. I’m not a doctor so not going to suggest any possible causes, only that it could potentially be serious, and you should seek medical advice as a matter of urgency.

Go straight to A&E I also thought stroke or similar. You need medical attention ASAP.

Chocmallows · 22/04/2019 10:00

I would have gone to A&E as would have worried a type of stroke or similar episode. It would be best to check blood pressure and general tests ASAP and talk through your medical history with a clinician.

Can someone take you today?

This is mad. Why on earth didn't you phone 999 and why do you think random people on the internet will know better than phoning 999?

Report
ChrisPrattsFace · 22/04/2019 10:02

Why didn’t you get help when it happened?
You need to ring 111 +/- go to A&E!

If you feel okay now that doesn't mean you should assume whatever has caused it has gone away. Something will most likely happen again. Please get checked out asap.

How can you not know that weakness on one side could be a stroke?!

I didn't want to scare my daughter more.
I do feel better and I'm only 33 so didn't think a stroke was a possibility.
Thank you
Going to call 111 and check what they say

If I was a 14 year old I would have called an ambulance if that happened to my mum.

Hmmm Hmm
