(Posting in AIBU for traffic) I'm open to all genres but everything i'm listening to is old stuff. I love Kacey Musgraves, some rock music (Lenny Kravitz's 5 album and Kaiser Chiefs Employment/ Off With Their Heads, some Kasabian songs), Haim and Lady Antebellum. I like more mellow music. Used to find new stuff on Radio 6 with Radcliffe and Maconie's show but never get a chance to listen to them with the new schedule!
What is new that I might like? please recommend Smile

Hi OP,

This is a pretty random mix, but have you looked at groups/singers like Marina and the Diamonds, Antony and the Johnsons, Clean Bandit or Florence and the Machine?

If you have Spotify the 6 music playlist is great, always finding new stuff on there if I don’t get chance to tune in to many of the shows.

Lima, thank you! I love Florence and the Machine. Really looking forward to listening to Antony And The Johnsons. I'll follow them on Spotify now.

Ashley Mcbryde. I saw her at C2C in March and she was amazing. I have downloaded her album, Girl Going Nowhere, and cannot stop listening to it.

I always use the playlists Spotify puts together for some inspiration. Usually find something new, and quite often something I'd forgotten about - I'm currently enjoying my Spotify compiled songs you listened to in 2017 playlist!

Catfish and the Bottlemen, Blossoms, The Wombats, The Divine Comedy, Seafret, Kodaline, The 1975. But I’m an ‘80s synth and jangly guitars lover, and a ‘90s indie pop fan so these work beautifully for me 😊

I have Apple Music and it recommends similar artists to ones you already have. I have discovered Halsey, Alice Merton, Banks, Bishop Briggs, Elle King, Blossoms, Camilla Cabello, the Chainsmokers, Delta Rae, Digital Daggers, Dorothy, Editors, First Aid Kit, Gin Wigmore, Grace Potter, Ivy Levan, Jilette Johnson, Meg Myers, Rag n' Bone Man, Ryn Weaver, Sabrina Carpenter, Shannon LaBrue, Skylar Gray, Zara Larsson, Zella Day and ZZ Ward.
Just a few of my favourites lol

Roisin Murphy has had some good stuff out recently, and I also like Little Dragon and Stealing Sheep.

I love Christina and the Queens and Sigrid. Really individual and talented artists.

If you want a non mainstream 80s band, Dave Grohl really loved a Canadian band called Voivod. Start with Dimension Hatross, available on Youtube. The vocalist had to re-learn how to sing to fit in with the guitarist (RIP Piggy) who was apparently a classically trained violinist. Plus they have my favourite drummer, Away, who is incredible.
And they do a mean version of Astronime Domine.

I've recently really got into Kane Brown, Jason Aldean and Dustin Lynch. So much so that I've booked an impulse trip to Baton Rouge to see Brown and Aldean in concert next month. If you like Kacey Musgraves and Lady Antebellum then I think you'll like them also.
