Legs bent up on the seat in front of him one folded over the other in the air bouncing foot for the entire time AIBU to not want to pay good money to see a film that has the incredible bouncing foot in the corner ?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius Sun 07-Apr-19 20:49:03

YANBU - can you give his leg a good push?

ladymariner Sun 07-Apr-19 21:04:22

Why didn't you politely ask him to stop?

FiveLittlePigs Sun 07-Apr-19 21:05:16

Buy some small hoops and amuse yourself playing hoopla.

Or ask him to stop. smile

SnuggyBuggy Sun 07-Apr-19 21:05:53

Cinema etiquette has really gone downhill these days. I wish they'd start chucking people out when the spoil it for others.

Yes and what is it with hot food in the cinema?

whitehalleve Sun 07-Apr-19 21:11:01

Go to the lobby and report him

whyamievenamazeddotcom Sun 07-Apr-19 21:16:45

HI I did politely ask him to put it down huff tut legs down 5 mins later up again I just figured if he had that mentality there was no point asking again as you never unfortunately know what way it will end

I just think etiquette and awareness of others has gone to pot am so glad it’s not just me thinking this

We have a security guard who stops all this crap. He spends his whole shift walking around the screens telling people off

MsSquiz Sun 07-Apr-19 21:20:24

I would complain to a member of staff, and have done previously.

I used to regularly go to subtitled films at the cinema with a relative who is deaf, and you would often people talked during the film as they presumed everyone except them were deaf!

I don't pay to watch a film in a cinema, to have people take over the cinema!

IamPickleRick Sun 07-Apr-19 21:20:28

* hot food in the cinema?*

I know. Nacho cheese that smells like acid reflux angry

Although my brother worked in a cinema and people would smuggle in KFC buckets so I can’t imagine that is fragrant either.

TowandaForever Sun 07-Apr-19 21:20:29

@IamPickleRick

What cinema chain is that? It sounds great!!!

LellowYedbetter Sun 07-Apr-19 21:21:06

Not as bad as people who “need toilet” every 5 minutes. They fuck me right off. If you can’t stop toilet obsessing for longer than 10 minutes you have no business being at the cinema unless you still at the front near the door

IamPickleRick Sun 07-Apr-19 21:21:34

It’s a Cineworld but I imagine it is location rather than chain. We need the protection frankly!

whyamievenamazeddotcom Sun 07-Apr-19 21:22:20

also I’ve just thought of this someone’s head has to go where his filthy shoes have gone lord knows what filth he’s stepped in !

whyamievenamazeddotcom Sun 07-Apr-19 21:27:18

Surely though IAMRICK the security guard and the ensuing tussle is also disturbing I mean it’s a cinema go and watch the film and whip your phone out talk to your mates after ! So annoying I’m thinking some just have no awareness of how their behaviour affects others am really annoyed - ps if you do go see pet semetary the bouncing foot isn’t a cameo part !

IamPickleRick Sun 07-Apr-19 21:30:15

It’s pretty much ok really. He comes in and everyone knows he’s there to start something, so you see lots of feet go down at once. Then he just walks up and down the stairs a few times glaring at people and goes off again.

mumwon Sun 07-Apr-19 21:30:30

ah for a hat pin!

ChampionThreadKiller Sun 07-Apr-19 21:31:33

We’ve just given up our Cineworld cards as it’s not pleasant going to the cinema anymore. People eating the whole way through the film, chatting, texting or gaming on their phones, feet on seats and just generally being obnoxious.

I don’t understand why you’d pay so much to go and see a film and then not watch it. It’s not cheap these days!

SnuggyBuggy Sun 07-Apr-19 21:31:40

That security guard sounds awesome

FriarTuck Sun 07-Apr-19 21:33:39

So much easier to get the film on dvd in due course (not that long a wait these days) and just watch it in the peace of your own home.

IamPickleRick Sun 07-Apr-19 21:33:40

Stealing unlimited cards probably. Although ours have cracked down on that too, they will not let you in without one. It’s hilarious to watch someone not get in after they’ve spent £72 on popcorn.

Nnnnnineteen Sun 07-Apr-19 21:37:11

Going by the ignorant twats at our local one, etiquette has gone and the revolution has started. Why WOULD you stop talking on your phone, chatting to your mate, texting throughout a film? Fuck manners, it's their right to do whatever they want.

Serenity45 Sun 07-Apr-19 21:37:23

I'm an unassuming looking mid 40s woman. Teenage boy in cinema the other week thought he could put his feet up on the back of the seat next to me and keep jiggling them, wobbling my whole row of seats. My friend doesn't like to make a fuss.

I asked nicely once...

Said teenager thought he was dealing with a nice normal middle aged lady and told me to f off.

Sadly for him, despite looking pretty well to do, I was brought up in a rough area and am the oldest of 6. Think he was a bit surprised when I ripped his trainer off, threw it at him and told him not to fucking test me grin

Not a peep for the rest of the film

Bringbackthestripes Sun 07-Apr-19 21:38:17

I hate the hot food! The rustling packets of crisps annoys me too.
A woman near us recently took her shoes off an put her feet up-they STANK! I was actually just about to ask her to put her shoes back on when someone came an sat in the seat in front so she did at least automatically put them down & her shoes back on.
A bloke at the end of our row sat on his iPad the whole time whilst the rest of his family watched the film. The screen glowing was, thankfully, out of my eyeline or I would have made DH go and tell him to turn it off.(too cowardly myself)
Teens squealing and laughing had another cinema goer go and get a member of staff to come in and tell them to shut up.
At nearly £30 for tickets for us 3 it really does get on my pip when the film is ruined by inconsiderate people.
