Believe what a medium has said?

Has anyone had a reading from a psychic medium (or like) and had something exactly came true? Not something vague but something specific almost word for word?

Nope. It’s shite. They’re good at reading people and picking up subconscious cues.

What did they say?

My colleague is always talking about this. She has visited mediums after each of her parents died.

It’s hard because she always says “How could they know that?”. It’s just bullshit but I can’t tell her that.

Don't you think if mediumship was a genuine thing, there'd be no historical mysteries?

Watch Derren brown's act about fortune tellers and psychics ..... it's all bollocks

I used to believe in all that shit when I was younger but now I'm full of anger towards these charlatans. They make money from the vulnerable and the gullible. I went to one when my brother had cancer,I was worried sick about him but she never picked up on that (even though that was the only thing on my mind and the main reason I went to see her). At the end of the reading she asked if I had any questions,so I told her about my brother and she looked a bit flustered and told me he wasn't gonna make it. At the time I thought she was maybe flustered because she didn't wanna give me the bad news, but over 10 years later with my brother still (thankfully) alive and kicking I realise that she was probably flustered because she hadn't picked up on something so major, and I'm angry that she told me the most awful of lies adding even more angst to my life when what I was really looking for-like nearly everyone who goes to these people- was reassurance and hope. Bitch!

Mediums are bullshit. Nobody is psychic. They pray on the vulnerable and extort money out of them using manipulation and trickery.

Despicable people.

The despicable preying on the deluded and desperate.

As a pp has said, please watch Derren Brown to see how these charlatans operate.

Also agree with watching Derren Brown. He blows the whole thing out of the water.

Not something vague but something specific almost word for word?

How specific are we talking here?

  1. You will fall pregnant, have a baby girl in the summer, who you will call Jane

  2. You will find a lost cat who you will look after until the owner can be found. The owner will turn out to be Kit Harington*, who will be so overcome with emotion that he will give you 1 million pounds as a reward, and get you a part in the last ever episode of game of thrones.

If the medium has predicted something as specific and totally unforeseen such as example 2 then go ahead and believe them. However ask yourself why, if they have such a talent, they are charging £20 in the back of a pub.**

*I have no idea if Kit Harington owns a cat.

** Slight exaggerations may have been made as to where the medium works, but hopefully you get the jist of what I was trying to say.

In my younger years I believed in all this and was astounded how they could know so much. Now I’m older and wiser and watched one of them give my mum so much false hope after my Nan passed away I’m actually sickened how they sleep at night. Makes my blood boil.

My pals went to see Psychic Sally in the city hall.
£50 a ticket and there were four of them.
They all said it was crap.

I was always very sceptical. Still am actually.

BUT many years ago had a reading as I went to support my friend who had just broken up with DH.

The woman said something to me about my brother and also that I would be working with my husband in the future and an overseas link. Afterwards my friend said that it was all a load of rubbish because I didn't have a brother. I explained that I did actually but never mentioned him as we didn't get along and not seen him since late 70s. Furthermore, I did end up working with my husband [there was no way that could ever have been foreseen when the reading was done] and now we own a property abroad.

She also told my friend that she would have twins - she wasn't pregnant at the time and there were no twins in her or new DH's families. I laughed and said she should insure against it! Fast forward a few years - she had blooming twins!!!!

My friend had forgotten the predictions but I remembered and often remind her. Spooky!!!

One very famous medium has people wandering round the foyer before shows asking people if the want to enter a draw to win an IPad. You had to give your name and address......

I think the physic thing can be misleading. I once had a reading - the women said I was going to start a new career, get back with an old boyfriend etc. I had another reading a week later, exactly the same cards came up. But this lady interpreted them differently. She said not a new job but a promotion with pay rise. I would meet my husband to be within a month. I would be wearing red, he would be a Taurus and ride a motorcycle and talk a lot.
So I did get offered a promotion - infact I was offered two. One offers a pay rise and the other no pay rise. I preferred the no payrise option but almost didn’t take it as because of the reading I thought I should take the payrise option!
And I did meet a man within a month. I was wearing red and he was a Taurus and drove a moped and talked a lot! I dated him because I thought I should - it was too uncanny with the details to my reading. But after a month I realised I did not like him that much and broke up.
A month later I met my now husband.
My opinion is there is some truth in some physic things but it’s really open to interpretion by the physic.
Both physics were right I was going to change jobs but one thought it was a new career and the other a promotion.
The last physic was right I was going to meet my future husband - but she got the men mixed up!

I’ve just remembered going to an evening with one years ago. Towards the end he spoke to a man in the audience and said he would experience a health problem, but didn’t go into anymore than that...... at the end the poor man went up to him and said ‘is it bad news? Will I be ok?’ And the psychic said ‘I can’t give bad news!’ The poor man looked visibly upset, it was disgusting.

If you believe in mediums you must also believe in fairies and other such ridiculous imaginary things. I'm astonished a grown person can be taken in by these people.

I was told by 2 separate psychics that I would have 2 daughters. I did!

Neither of these were people I paid to see, one was a friend of a friend who told me in passing and the other was someone I got chatting to in a pub.

My mum is the most sceptical person there is but she went to see a psychic because a friend was scared to go alone. My mum (being sceptical) refused to give any clues or hints. This was when I was a child so before Facebook etc to give the psychic clues in advance.

The psychic said:

Mum had 2 girls and a boy (not true, no boy)
One of the girls would live in USA (true)
There was a light in the house that kept flickering and annoying her (true)
There's an ugly trophy that she kept hidden (true)
Her dad couldn't breathe properly (true)
Her mum had a "funny voice" (she was not British so true)

I'd like a psychic reading of my own TBH but there are no psychics around here, none advertised, so wondering if anyone can recommend one online maybe?

I actually know someone who considers herself a psychic and charges a fortune for her services. Thing is, she is no more a psychic than I am and really isn’t a nice person to know.

Sorry I should have said. No-one has said anything that has come true word for word (so far for me!) however I was just interested if anyone else had seen a psychic and something had come true word for word.
