AIBU?

To wonder how you manage to have sex on a family holiday?

I know this sounds a bit weird, but I am looking at booking a holiday, which will involve 7yo DS sleeping on the sofa bed in our room. When we've gone away previously we've done Eurocamp, so he's been in his own room in a chalet.

I was looking at holidays and suddenly thought "oh crap, where do we have sex?". I couldn't have sex while he was sleeping in the room, doing it in the bathroom while he is asleep sounds uncomfortable.

I looked at apartments and then realised that I would end up doing all the cooking and it wouldn't be a holiday for me. I am done with self catering.

Am I being weird thinking about it?

Change to a suite so he has a connecting doer but different room.

We book an apartment or cottage (usually through Air B&B) with enough bedrooms for everyone. My husband will do fair share of cooking though and we also eat out/get takeout quite a lot.

Either change to a suite or book him into a holiday club for an hour!

@Newbie1981 I looked at suites but they are expensive and a lot of them don't have a proper door that separates the lounge and the bedroom.

There's loads of positions you can do in the bathroom to be fair. Sex doesn't have to be laid in a bed. If you don't have a very creative sex life though I'd say what a pp said and get a suite or something.

In fact, tell your husband he won't get any sex unless he does at least half the cooking etc.

How long is the holiday for that you can’t go without for the duration? Confused

This is the main reason one of the reasons why we rent villas.

Why would you be doing all the cooking? To be honest that would make me not want to sleep
With my DH anyway!!

Tell the person you intend on having sex with, that they need to help out with the cooking etc.

I don't do all the cooking either, we eat out at least twice a day.

I mean if their 7 and sleeping in your room nowhere?

Bathroom sex is a bit crap, plus hotel bathrooms they are disgusting 🤢

Are you going all inclusive? If not with an apartment you can still eat out and things but might just give you and DC some space.

Your options are basically no sex for a week 2) kids club if there is one 3) don't have your ds in your room.

In the shower once your DS is asleep could be good. Or kids club as PPs have said.

We always SC. We only eat breakfast in, the other meals out. No way do I want to be sharing a room with an 11-year-old and a 7-year-old for a week or more. That would be hideous and far worse than washing up a few bowls and mugs!

No one wants to be cooking on holiday! Don't sacrifice your lack of cooking just for sex. Sex can wait, a break from everyday life is more important

I am going on holiday in a couple of months - we are all in one room. DH and I won't be having sex on the holiday I can't say it's a deal breaker for me!

This is why children get their own room on holiday. The thought of years & years of holidays with 3 or 4 in a room is not my idea of a holiday!
