Two weeks holiday and 2 bank holidays means only 10 days of school in April. AIBU to be annoyed?

You're being ridiculous not just unreasonable.

Why would you be annoyed? Oh wait, are you alluding to the free babysitting service you think they are there for?

So, two weeks of school. What's wrong with that?

If Easter was earlier, as it almost always is, the days off would be split over 2 months. School is open for pupils 190 days per year, teachers work 195. What difference does it make how they are distributed across the year?

Two weeks of school seems fine to me.

Yes YABU. It is the same number of holidays whether they are all in one month or split over March and April.

I'm not thrilled about it, because exams are looking for and the children I teach tend not to do any work outside school. But it is what it is with Easter where it is.

The school can't change when easter is? Mine also have 10 days in April because it contains the easter holidays (i only counted after seeing your post) and 0 days in August some private schools probably have less than 10 days in April.

Sockwomble · 04/04/2019 18:05

It will be the same number of school holidays over the year.

What specifically are you annoyed about?

TheDarkPassenger · 04/04/2019 18:06

You know that in August they have no days at school right?

CaledonianSleeper · 04/04/2019 18:06

You might want to sit down before I tell you what happens in August.Hmm

BikeRunSki · 04/04/2019 18:07

The number of teaching days, school holidays and bank holidays is the same every year, however they are distributed.

What are you annoyed about Confused?

Why does it matter if the Easter holidays are in April rather than a week in March and a week in April. Same amount of holidays every year!

Report
BrieAndChilli · 04/04/2019 18:08

It’d the same amount of time off whether the holidays and bank holidays are in the same month the or adjoining ones!!

Who are you annoyed with?! Grin

Of all the things to be annoyed about! You’d think the OP didn’t want to spend time with their child(ren)...

I’m annoyed that apparently school doesn’t even actually start until children are nearly 5 and what’s more it’s only on from 9-3pm weekdays!!!?

It’s outrageous-who’s going to look after my child free for the rest of the time??

Who can I write to about this-I am fuming.
