Kab30 Thu 04-Apr-19 11:54:59

Come on mums I'm inhaling TCP all the time..feel my pain x

jackstini Thu 04-Apr-19 11:56:47

Presume you've mopped it up and it's in the outside bin?

Floor cleaner and open windows I think...

Omfg. Condolences on the recent loss of your poor house flowers

BadPennyNoBiscuit Thu 04-Apr-19 12:00:31

Google suggests make a strong solution of something soapy plus bicarb of soda, wash and rinse several times, then dry.
Then sprinkle with dry bicarb and leave it down. You could cover that with a towel or some paper.

I love the smell of TCP, I’ll buy your house 😂

Pour a bottle of zoflora on top?

PhalangeReginaPhalange Thu 04-Apr-19 12:03:09

I think this is the one time zoflora is not appropriate unless you want a migraine

Bicarb - I’ve done it in the bathroom

PhalangeReginaPhalange Thu 04-Apr-19 12:03:30

3out cross posted! 😂

I have no advice but it feels a good time to admit, i used to dab my wrists with TCP and sniff it all day blush Love that smell!

DIZZYTIGGER87 Thu 04-Apr-19 12:18:02

TCP makes me think of my ex 🤮... I feel for you.

Open all the windows. Lemon and bicarb solution maybe?
Sorry not much use but you have my sympathy

OKBobble Thu 04-Apr-19 12:52:37

I too love the smell of TCP so I am afraid I see no issue.grin

5foot5 Thu 04-Apr-19 13:41:17

I also love the smell of TCP. Does anyone else remember you used to be able to TCP-flavoured pastells for sore throats? Can you still?

crispysausagerolls Thu 04-Apr-19 13:46:12

My mother spilt some in a food cupboard once and all our crisps forever more tasted of TCP. Or, as we called it (and still do to this day),“holidays”.

3out Thu 04-Apr-19 13:47:55

Haha Phalange!

I remember the TCP pastilles. I don’t think it was that long ago I had one, can’t remember their name though

MWNA Thu 04-Apr-19 15:46:56

That stuff is ghastly. It reels like nothing on earth. The stink is utterly pervasive. I'd say only use Savlon.

Marshmallow91 Thu 04-Apr-19 16:01:36

Move house

Only solution, sorry flowers

5foot5 Thu 04-Apr-19 16:18:38

Reading this thread I wonder if TCP is the new Marmite?

iklboo Thu 04-Apr-19 16:19:06

I think I can smell it from here.

MsMustDoBetter Thu 04-Apr-19 17:42:41

At least it's a clean smell!

mrsm43s Thu 04-Apr-19 18:00:26

I would soak it up with old towels, then mop two or three times using clean soapy water and a new mop head each time. Then open the window, and sprinkle bicarb on the floor. Leave the bicarb til the morning, then hoover up and remop the floor with a clean mop head/clean soapy water again. Leave the window open as long as you can safely do so. Also you could put the extractor fan on.

Thanks ladies ...I'm struggling now it's been days and everything I smell and taste is of the horrible stuff xx

PhalangeReginaPhalange Sat 06-Apr-19 01:37:17

I feel like I can smell it for you. Have you tried a weakish bleach solution?

user1473878824 Sat 06-Apr-19 01:39:08

I don’t mind the smell of TCP and I hope you don’t either OP, because it’s going to linger for about six years. 😬😬😬

user1473878824 Sat 06-Apr-19 01:39:25

Hope all the suggestions work x
