it hasn't moved

its in MY spot (OK I know I don't own the spot but its a quiet road with many parking spaces). Some stranger has chosen to park immediately outside my front door where I like to park to unload shopping and sleeping children.

I feel like reporting it as a stolen vehicle .. how long do I have to wait?

And I can see its ugly range rover roof from my sofa

grrrrrrrrr

Not as bad as our road where a neighbour has parked her dad's absolutely ancient, rusting, wreck of a giant 1980s mercedes in our street where parking is v difficult anyway. The tyres are now all flat too. It looks hideous.

Bugger it !! It's your front door- report em' and add to the charges they pay for it to run !!! If you live in the city- they'll be paying a hefy price to drive that monster around- pollution tax and if you are in London- extra congestion charge. can you park in front of it to wedge it in ?

Ours isn't that bad, but we have a really narrow street, and someone always parks at the end of the driveway (on otherside of road) but as sooo narrow makes hard to get off. And the neighbour on the green knows she does it. What annoys me i've never spoken to her so haven't offended her in anyway at least i don't think so

I'm sure you could report that as an abandoned vehicle, Aloha.

Twig, they've done it specifically to annoy you. Let's hope it's gone by your birthday. Ooh, maybe it's actually a birthday present!

it is parked right in the middle of space .. skip next door and end of road other side .. both of which spaces would fit 3/4 of a car

it is obnoxiously parked and it is an obnoxious vehicle

if it is still here at the weekend I am reporting it

x post. To be fair, there's no excuse for BAD parking.

YANBU - you don't own the street or the space obviously, but if it's been there for ages then report it as an abandoned vehicle!
People park outside my house all the time making it impossible to get off the drive and I know they're only there for 2 mins while they go to the shop but it's sooo IGNORANT!!!! Btw, there are other spaces which don't block any drives.

HedTwigg · 12/07/2007 11:08

so why don't they park it outside their own sodding house?

it doesn't belong there .. it is not my car nor my neighbours .. it has been there 3 days

Fio ..I'm not surprised you don't get on with your neighbour

Have you checked the tax disc?

Aloha you definitely have a reportable case because the car is not road worthy so should not be parked on the road.

A car parked outside our local chip shop (I know because my friend lives next door - literally attached to it) for days on end and they reported it but the police did a check and it was valid taxed and registerd in our area so they did nothing. The chip shop were fuming because it is bad for business having a car stuck outside the shop. My friend was none too happy because all the chip shop customers were parking outside her house.

It's taxed but certainly not roadworthy! It is a rusting heap. The skip next to it looks more roadworthy

Will report if it's still there after holiday (bet it will be)

oh i dont get on with her...

maybe its a different thing. God I hate being pregnant and paranoid. Shall i come round and deal with the landrover?

Report
Blu · 12/07/2007 11:15

Twig! Get a grip! Unless there is specific reason to suggest that it is stolen, or untaxed (is it taxed) there is nothing to report and all you will do is waste the time of whoever checks all these things.

I would be irritated, I would be glaring at it with hate, but it's a public road, without a CPZ and if the vehicle is taxed they are entitled to park it where the hell they like.

I know it must be embarrassing because people might think it is yours, and it will scupper your bohemian reputation, but retreat into your bohemian mellowness and stop being so territorial and Victor Meldrewish!

ooops - cross-posted.

VERY pleased to hear it is untaxed...call your council and ask for the dept that deals with abandned vehicles and report it as untaxed and left.

Report
HedTwigg · 12/07/2007 11:17

well Fio all I know about the situation is that she complained to you because your car blocks out her natural light and you make it a point to park outside her house thus irritating her because your car has blocked out her natural light and she can't do anything about it because whilst you're acting legally its not fair.

Patently that's just based on the information you've given in this thread and I'm sure you're going to tell me some big long story about how this is the culmination of a long series of her being totally unreasonable.
