AIBU to think asking a 5 year old to say toilet tissue is a horrible genteelism?

It's loo paper, and you flush it down a loo.

Also, has anyone else noticed how dusty it is?

I call it bog roll

I've never heard anyone call it toilet tissue.

I prefer toilet tissue. Yes it’s dusty, that’s why I buy the aloe Vera - no dust.

I call it loo roll or toilet roll. Never toilet tissue. That's weird.

Toilet paper here.

I am not a fan of the word loo so wouldn’t encourage it personally. (Nor discourage it though)

I say loo roll, toilet roll or bog roll but only toilet paper.

Toilet tissue is grim and non-U. Who is teaching a 5-year-old such horrors?

And yes, it's dustier than building work.

I say toilet paper.

I think. We need some "toilet paper".

Yup.

Toilet roll/loo roll/bog roll depending on how classy I want to be. Never tissue or paper.

Rôle a la bog in the Conyo house.

Toilet paper, I think we call it in front of dc. I haven't noticed how dusty it is, and I wouldn't put aloe vera anything near my flaps Confused Highway to the Danger Zone of Thrush!

Toilet papar or toilet roll. Loo is not really a word we use.

Toilet roll here. Toilet tissue sounds like something Hyacinth Bucket would have in her 'lavatory'.

Tissue is a horrible word, right up there with moist, slacks and crotch Envy puke.

Bog roll in our house.

But we have no pretentions to be genteel. Never loo roll, I hate the word "loo".

We just say toilet roll or loo roll.

Also I've never noticed it being dusty? Maybe it depends on the brand?

Has anyone tried 'Who gives a crap' by the way? What did you think of it?

Tissue is a horrible word

Especially when pronounced "tiss-you".

TP in our house because of some South park joke I wasn't privy to years ago (geddit?)

Report
AnnaNutherThing · 01/04/2019 15:25

I've never heard toilet tissue used.

Does the user pronounce it Tiss-eeoo rather than tish- you?

Loo roll. PLEASE don't tell me that some Hyacinth Bucket type is really teaching a 5 year old that anyone outside of adverts actually says toilet tissue. Ick.
