I know I know, I don't mean to add to the collection of hundreds of threads. My children are still young but even so.. nothing made at nursery? DP hasn't made anything with them.. I didn't even get a lie in ! Feeling meh about the whole thing.
Especially as I have no relationship with my Mum, can the day be over already?

Go get in bed and tell everyone you're off duty

It's unusual not to make something for mothers day at nursery. Are you the one who picks them up from nursery?

I took my DS shopping and let him buy me something myself. He wanted to give me a gift and I steered him towards something I like, no one was disappointed.

I have no money unfortunately to let my children pick something Sad
Yes I am the one who collects him from nursery, he has already said he made nothing at nursery Sad

Order yourself something online today. From bed. Tell DH he is making dinner and that next you except at least a lie in, a card and a meal.

I think some nurseries and schools avoid to avoid upsetting children who don't have a mum. Crap that dh didnt bother though. Flowers

He made a card last year so don't understand it this year but I do appreciate that could be a reason.
I had a miscarriage in Feb, I've had two d&cs, constant tablets as I'm just not expelling the tissue. We completely cancelled our 2020 wedding due to no money and I just feel so shit and unappreciated.
DP can't even cook tonight as we don't have much food in, which requires me going shopping and with 3 young kids in tow I just cbf. Woe is me

Oh that's so crap of the nursery and your partner not to make a card for you and give you a lie in and some toast in bed - that doesn't cost anything.

Why can’t he mind the kids while you get the shopping?
Why not just go the park for an hour as a family?
If the kids are young it can be ‘same old’ in my experience. Gets better as they get older and able to sort stuff themselves.

Can’t he pick something up?

Why can't he do the shopping or you order in a takeaway?

I'm really surprised the nursery haven't done something , that really sucks :(

Also, my kids all gave me a lovely group hug and said ‘Happy Mithers Day’ when I —eventually— got up.
Cost not a penny and was so lovely.
Is your DH trying to make you feel special today even? You sit down, I’ll make you a cuppa type thing?

DP is working at 1, he wouldn't get to the supermarket and back in enough time so I'll have to do it. Suppose he could go when he finishes but isn't very likely to do that either.
No money for a take away otherwise I'd have ordered a fry upGrin

Buy the food you want to eat and make him cook it later. Grin

I'm sulking too. I've been admitted to hospital because of complications with my pregnancy - the fourth time this month. I miss my little boy and I'm not allowed chocolate because of gestational diabetes, wine because I'm pregnant or flowers because of hospital policy, and my husband can't visit anyway because he's watching our son. Woe is me also.

Order online shopping. Click and collect. Send details to DP. He can collect on his way home from work.

Yanbu. I feel the same. Nursery and schools don’t seem to bother anymore. My dh didn’t bother.
I got a paper card from my 3 dds. That was it.
My mum and mil passed away so it just feels like a normal day with extra pain.

Flowers I didn’t receive anything either OP, even after the huge fuss I’ve made for my DSM and even for my exes DM. No card from DS school either.

I’m spending the day watching movies with DS & although I started the day miserable, we’re having tonnes of fun together Grin the day is what you make it.

Hope your DP is planning to bring you something fun back from work WineCake

Nurseries and schools have stopped doing this as it is so traumatic for the children without a mother/father.

Which I think is sensible.

At the same time they teach four year old children who believe in Father Christmas that children can change sex.
