Even if it’s only one ring?

MyKingdomForBrie Fri 29-Mar-19 22:37:55

No.. it's turned off.

Heismyopendoor Fri 29-Mar-19 22:38:12

No because it’s off?

swapsicles Fri 29-Mar-19 22:39:15

Run out no, kind of impossible I'd have thought but the action of it ringing when it's really low on battery might just be too much power and so switch off mid ring.

TheDuckSaysMoo Fri 29-Mar-19 22:40:12

No, but if it is really low on battery - e.g. 1% - it might ring once then die. But it wouldn't ring at all if it was already dead.

itsabongthing Fri 29-Mar-19 22:40:43

Unless you mean does the other person hear a ringing tone when they call up?
If that’s the question then yes I think mine does a couple of rings before it goes to answerphone even when it’s completely dead and the actual phone itself hasn’t rung. Does that help?

User70001 Fri 29-Mar-19 22:41:53

Yes I’m referring to the rings the other person would hear.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat Fri 29-Mar-19 22:42:48

Clear as mud then

wombat1a Fri 29-Mar-19 23:13:44

If my phone battery is dead then DH has told me on occasion that it still sounds to him that it is ringing.

BumbleBeee69 Fri 29-Mar-19 23:15:29

No, you would get a message telling you the number you are calling is not available, or Voicemail.

Catmum26 Fri 29-Mar-19 23:21:03

no it would go to voicemail

aLilNonnyMouse Fri 29-Mar-19 23:21:22

My OH is forever forgetting to charge his phone. When I call it I hear normal ringtones forever until I hang up (no voicemail).

notharryssally Fri 29-Mar-19 23:26:31

Yes I think the other person might get one ring

DanielRicciardosSmile Fri 29-Mar-19 23:32:07

I don't know to be honest, but would imagine not. Could you switch your phone off and then try ringing it from a landmine or someone else's mobile to find out?

DanielRicciardosSmile Fri 29-Mar-19 23:32:58

*landline - I definitely wouldn't recommend phoning from any kind of explosive device, it sounds very dangerous.

HeartShapedLocket Fri 29-Mar-19 23:35:16

If the battery is completely flat then no, it can't ring.

chaoscategorised Fri 29-Mar-19 23:36:31

My phone does exactly one ring then voicemail when it's off!

ItStartedWithAKiss241 Fri 29-Mar-19 23:37:41

“Unless you mean does the other person hear a ringing tone when they call up?“
This happens when anyone calls me and my phone is dead. iPhone is that’s relevant. Not very impressed dp thought I’d rejected his call but it hadn’t even rang as my phone was off once x

aliceliddel Fri 29-Mar-19 23:39:57

mine (three network) does one ring and abruptly cuts into my voicemail. People often think im hanging up on them sometimes i am

happinessischocolate Fri 29-Mar-19 23:49:40

Mine does and so does my fella's, his will also ring when he's in a bad reception area and won't even register the call.

julensaor Fri 29-Mar-19 23:57:44

Mine will always go to voicemail if rung out of charge and so will my DPs

julensaor Fri 29-Mar-19 23:58:32

Intrigued as to why you ask?

LooksBetterWithAFilter Sat 30-Mar-19 07:06:34

Dh is often out of range during a work day and his will do a ring then cut to voicemail.

caughtinanet Sat 30-Mar-19 07:21:25

It possibly depends on the phone, the network, the coverage where the phone is at the time, maybe you could be more specific about what you're azking
