to be mad with how inaccurate my new scales are?

bought some scales yesterday, thought it was about time since normally I have to drive all the way to my mum's to use hers. mum's scales say 12st 5 which I believe to be accurate

got my new scales home and tested them on a flat surface (bathroom floor). weighed 12st 5 - great.

woke up this morning, apparently I've lost 3st overnight because the scales are adamant I now weigh 9st 4 🙈🙈 I mean that's wonderful in theory (I'm now no longer overweight 😂😂) but what can possibly be wrong? they're brand new and I need to KNOW how fat I am, not live in fantasy land!

It’s madness I have two sets a manual and a digital. I can place them side by side and there is a 1stone difference between the weight it gives. Tested on myself and four other family members exactly a stone from stepping off one and onto the other.

I bet you're not standing straight. On some scales that really throws them off.

Frankly I think they should bring back the ones in Boots that you could use. At least they were reasonably accurate.

I was 9.9lb when I was born, maybe the scales are mirroring that and not my current weight aged 30 😂😂

I always have to turn my digital scales on then leave them at zero until they turn off themselves to re-calibrate then get on to weigh myself.

My old scales used to have about a 7kg difference depending if you were facing North or South

Mine made me put on 4lbs in about 30 seconds when I moved them slightly!

Are they on a level and hard surface. Thick carpet can cause scales to under read.
