We’re staying in London next week, in a swanky hotel. It’s our first child-less night away since our little boy was born 13 months ago. Hoping to have a little fun.

Want to visit the Tate in the daytime so we are travelling there in the morning before we check into our hotel at 3pm. Taking a backpack each. Does anyone know if they have a cloakroom / locker facility and more importantly- do they bag search?

I doubt it would be confiscated...assuming it can't be used as a weapon!

Why are you worried about a search?

If they do find it they'll probably exhibit it.

Some hotels have a luggage room so you can drop off your bag long before you check in.

If you used it there you'd be an exhibit so I imagine it would be fine.

They bag search unless it's a baby (baby is with you) bag or if bag is tiny.

Wrap it in something?

I've never had my bag searched at the Tate. At the entrance to the new part there are lockers (£1) you can leave your bag there.

Sorry but this has made me howl with laughter.
Not your predicament but it's just something I'd totally stress over too and them end up embarrassing myself.in some bizarre scenario.
Perhaps if it's the first night child free you don't actually need to bring it?

Yes they have a bag search they also have a cloakroom when you are inside. Put it in a sock?

They really won't care. Maybe take the battery out just in case.
