To be worried about going into London on Saturday?

Taking our baby to London for an important medical appointment.

I'm a bit worried about civil unrest with the march; should I be? We were going to take train but I think we'll drive (DH used to London and street parking)

Don’t think there will be civil unrest! I do think there will be a lot of people and a lot of diversions can you make a plan b to park further out and walk / public transport it in?

I’d think driving would be worse than getting the train.

FWIW we’re taking our dc (6 & 4) on the actual March. Which we wouldn’t do if we thought there was any greater risk of civil unrest than usual. These things are normally very well-mannered.

Civil unrest? Eh? Are you serious? Do you struggle with anxiety? Seriously, there's nothing to worry about.

I'd suggest you go with your original plan and get the train. I live in central London and it feels like almost every road is being dug up or blocked off for construction. It's really bloody annoying and makes the traffic even worse than usual. I have a car but I travel on foot as much as possible as driving in town has just become an utter misery. I would guess that things will be worse than usual this weekend as roads will be closed / diverted for the demonstration / march.

There’s a good chance of civil unrest between you and DH if you drive! Not worth it, train will be considerably easier. And I hope the medical appointment goes well.

Do not drive, if there are protests there will be road closures. You can always drive to the outskirts of London and then get the tube/train in. Which hospital are you going to?

Traffic could be bad - we travelled in October half term when there was a march on and it took us 3 hours to drive 2 miles! And that was with DH knowing London well and trying the backroads to avoid road closures etc. definitely go on the train, and far more relaxing too!
