To ask which dairy-free milk is nicest in coffee?
(98 Posts)Hoping for some serious inspiration🙈 I have been told I am intolerant to dairy and need to go cold turkey on all dairy products. I've managed 3 days so far but I really struggle with black coffee - and I looove my coffee. Could anybody suggest an alternative to cows milk to put in coffee please? 🤞🏻☕️
Almond milk
Oatly is really nice but put it in before the hot water otherwise it can curdle.
I've tried almond, soya, rice, hazelnut, coconut.
All rancid sorry.
Not exactly sure how it works but would the lactofree regular milk be an option?
Oh also tried oat. Not sure I liked that either.
Oat milk.
Oatly brand do a barista version
Oatly Barista edition - tastes good and can be foamed for fancy coffee.
Dh says oatly barista.
Soy is nice in coffee, but not so great in tea!
-boast- I make the best soy milk Yorkshire puddings.
Almond is perfect in porridge.
I'll try the Oatly Barista one then seeing as 4 people said it at the same time 😂
Is it a lactose intolerance? If so, you can buy lacto free milk and Costa do lacto free.
I’m dairy free due to baby’s dairy allergy
Oatly barista. Without a doubt
Unsweetened unroasted almond milk. It's really mild and has zero carbs.
Oatly Barista is amazing. I like if better than cow milk - no allergies, it just tastes better. Lasts longer too.
Oatly barista is definitely the best.
Oatly whole it's the best I found and I have tried nearly everything out there
Alpro fresh unsweetened soy milk is nice, only alpro other makes aren't as nice.
Oatly barista, my husband is now sad when he has to use any other milk.
Oatly Barista, although it can be a bit of a nightmare to find, as demand seems to regularly outstrip supply. There was a coconut one specifically for coffee new in in Waitrose the other day which may be worth a try..
We like koko dairy free. It tastes most similar to cows milk imo.
The problem with non dairy milk like almond is it curdles when added to hot water. Don't know how coconut milk reacts though. I know there is a barista style milk from I think oatly at Waitrose but is a couple quid that shouldn't curdle.
Are you sure it isn't lactofree? Arla is lovely.
Another vote for Oatly Barista
Soy is nice in coffee, but not so great in tea!
I did vegan month (6 weeks) last year, absolutely hated soya in my tea but it was the best of everything I tried. After the 6 weeks i tried milk again, nearly spewed and decided i actually really like soya in my tea, now i sulk if i forget it when I'm out and about. In fact I have it as a total replacement now and love it.
I like unsweetened soya milk in mine. When I had to give up soya for a while I didn't get on with Oatly Barista, I preferred the Skinny or Semi Oatly instead. Barista however makes lovely hot chocolate
