I admit I don’t know much about the details of this case.

But does anyone know when the last recorded siting of Madeleine was? By someone other than her parents or the tapas crew?

I’m glad there’s a new thread as I had tried to post this in response to another poster’s comments about Maddie disappearing between the 9.30 check and the 10pm check....

Matt Oldfield checked on them at 9.30 ish I believe, but didn’t go in the room....

So what was the last time that someone actually saw Madeleine lying in her bed?

When Matt ‘checked on them’ at 9.30pm but didn’t go in, Madeleine could already have been taken by then but nobody would have known because he didn’t actually look.

She could have been long gone by the time matt old field 'checked'. So many what ifs in this case.
Kate was supposed to go and check but matt old field said he would.

I know I wS wondering that too! Especially as he heard a noise. The abductor could have been in the room at that time. Poor poor madeline

I was watching the other thread and wondered if there was a follow up. The last episode is fucking heartbreaking. (Not that the others are easy viewing mind..).

Hi folks,

As with the previous thread, feel free to discuss the documentary - but above all else, please bear in mind that we're a parenting site and at the centre of the story are two parents who lost a child - we'll remove posts that cross the line into blame and speculation.

Thanks for your understanding.

The last episode was horrific. The thing that stood out for me out of the whole series was in the last episode. I'd never heard it before but there was a sighting by a restaurant owner?? At 6am the following morning, two people carrying a baby covered up and heading to the marina. He said they looked agitated when they spotted him. That has to be significant doesn't it, why would they be out at that time with a bundled up child Sad

I agree it made me feel so uneasy and horrified that it hasn't been investigated for a year. I know people say stuff about the mcanns but they must have felt so helpless with the idiotic Portuguese police!!!
I felt sick when the man was saying about the dark web and the children exploited there 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

There were a lot of supposed sightings. None ever came to anything.

There was an active sex predator in the area. .. yes also wondering about their friends.

I’m only on episode 3 now. The Portuguese police and their animosity has been a surprise for me. Also find matts check pretty odd

So the last time anyone saw madeleine was 9.05pm then she had gone by 10pm, with Matt Oldfield listening by the door at about 9:30. That quite a lot of time for something to happen.

Martin Smiths sighting of a man carrying a child seems to be really important. I can't remember this being in the Doc? Also doesn't seem to get much press. I have read his and his families statements

There's a busier thread on the Telly Addicts board, if anyone is interested.

Active sexual predator that nobody was seemingly warned of .

Matt Oldfield , if I was Kate I would not be happy with him , with all that followed. He heard a noise but didn't even check ? I wouldn't have left my kids but that's by the by, but I would have physically gone into the room to see the children were safe in bed.

The strange case of the collections for "The Orphanage" around the area.

Oddest of all, and I had never heard it before, the woman in Spain accosting men asking if "you have brought me my new daughter". Though that could sadly be a case of a mentally unwell or emotionally distressed lady .

Before the Netflix series I thought the McCanns had something to do with it. Having watched it I now realise that is impossible. They are victims Sad

I’ve just finished the Netflix series. I don’t think they did it at all, and I think the doc was sympathetic to them. I do feel sorry for them.

Kate was an anaesthetist before she became a GP, surely that resolves any question of her “accidentally” drugging MM. Hmm

Regarding the dogs. I think they did pick up a cadaver and blood. I think whoever abducted her had been in the room, touched cuddle cat, hid behind the sofa where the dogs alerted etc and the dogs picked up his/her trace. Who knows what unsavoury person that was, they may have had traces of anything on them.

I really really hope this has a happy ending for them all.

I’m with you Flooded Cuticles - I’ve had a complete change of mind and believe she was abducted. So so sad and terrible how Kate has been vilified.

I have only watched the first three episodes but also watched this from a statement analyst. It's long but very interesting. The expert talks about the use of language during statements.

I thought it was interesting what the documentary didn't question. Why did they leave the door to the apartment unlocked? Was that explained? Did anyone else think it odd that Matt Oldfield checked, when two parents were sitting at the table? Apparently Gerry had checked around 9.05pm and Matt around 9.20. Very soon after Was he a friend?
Not saying he was involved, just wondering why him.

@FloodedCuticles . I am the same . I thought they had something to do with something happening but now I really am not so sure , at all.
