AIBU?

To think something can be done about constant ear popping

Not strictly an AIBU but posted here for traffic. Can any of you help? My DD15 is being driven to distraction by constantly popping ears. It's been going on for 5 years now and although she has seen a specialist, the only advice has been that she will grow out of it.
Her ears pop constantly, as if she was on a plane; the only variation to this is that occasionally they block completely so all sounds are muffled.
She has had a nose spray which did nothing and a camera up her nose (very painful and uncomfortable) to check the throat and the junction of the Eustachian tube which was all fine.
She hasn't grown out of it yet and it is showing no signs of change. She plays music and has a big exam coming up (as well as GCSEs) and is desperate to find some way of stopping it.

Have grommets been mentioned? Sounds like classic eustachian tube issues to me. I've had three grommet ops in total, both eats twice and a permanent shut now in one ear. They still go occasionally and having a cold is still difficult but it's a thousand times better than it was.

No they've never mentioned that! I'll take her back to the doctor. Thanks!
