AIBU?

AIBU to hope the post-food poisoning weight loss stays off?

I had a 48 hour case of food poisoning a week ago, with the usual horrible symptoms that entails.

After it all cleared up I stepped on the scales and noticed I’d lost four pounds in weight. I’ve been trying to lose these 4lbs (and a bit more!) for ages but it’s been stubbornly refusing to budge. I thought nothing of it at the time, as I assumed it was down to dehydration from the poisoning.

However, this morning I stepped on the scales again and was delighted to find that I’m still 4lbs down, despite the fact I’ve been eating normally for the past six or seven days.

Could the weight stay off for good or will it creep back on soon?

Maybe. I always feel hopeful after a bug like this!

I lost 15lbs in 9 days. Stayed off and then list another 17lbs along the way that's with a pregnancy in between. To be fair the last 10kbs were when my husband died. But I kept the food poisioning weight off for 4 years this year good luck x

I once had food poisoning for 3 weeks and lost 1 1/2 stone. It all went back on again eventually. You initially lose lots of water and in my case my body went into starvation mode {as I hardly ate anything for 3 weeks} so my metabolism probably slowed down to compensate.

A week of gastro saw me losing a stone. Only put half of it back on. I would choose to be a stone heavier than go through that again though!
