Hello!
AIBU to HATE Valentines and all the paraphernalia that goes with it, or am I just a cynic?
We might use your responses in a new podcast, which is launching soon. This is with the permission of Mumsnet.
Many thanks

Oh no, it's a lovely romantic time for everyone. Man: buy chocolates. Man: buy flowers. Man: buy underwear. Man: buy dinner. Man: buy teddy bear holding a heart. Woman: get waxed. Woman: buy card. Woman: be wooed.

No. It's a steaming pile of shite for anyone over the age of 15. Unless you're in a film, then go ahead.

You aren't obliged to take part. I'm not that into it either but I don't hate other people enjoying it. Lighten up.

Each to thier own!
I think it's nice when you are a teen and in your first relationship because it's a really exciting special event.... I still have the first ever valentines card I got from my first ever boyfriend!

And i think now that I'm married and have kids it's just a good excuse to remember to focus on the romantic relationship. We usually just have dinner and a glass of wine together and he buys me flowers and we get each other cards. It's no big deal but it's nice to have that day to remind you both to do something nice for each other..... of course its true that you could do all that any time... but when your life is stressful and busy it's good to have an official day to just remind you... like a birthday, of course you should be happy that person is alive all the time lol, but it's just nice to set aside a particular day to celebrate that isnt it!
You dont have to acknowledge these days but it can be a bit of fun.... you dont have to pour loads of money into it or put loads of pressure on it at all.
