Wtf has happened to aero?? It used to be lovely!! Haven't had a bar for years, I saw it in the shop earlier and just fancied one! My god it's vile just pure sweet sugar taste!!! Tell me i'm not alone in thinking they have changed it! Yuk!

Sat eating a big bar now blush

I love them but agree it tastes different to what it did years ago.

ATBhinchers Sat 16-Mar-19 20:52:02

Palm oil ☹

LoudBatPerson Sat 16-Mar-19 20:52:02

Yep another chocolate that used to be awesome but is now vile sad

I stick to a handful of decent chocolate brands now. Costs a lot more but at least I have cut down!

Plump82 Sat 16-Mar-19 20:58:24

I haven't noticed a difference in mint aero. I dont like the plain one.

PurpleDaisies Sat 16-Mar-19 20:58:39

That’s a dodgy link

mimibunz Sat 16-Mar-19 21:00:07

I thought this was a thread about a baby being named Aero! Glad it’s not!

Dramatical Sat 16-Mar-19 21:00:14

Nestle chocolate has never been good.

I have reported the vile comment.

MoreSlidingDoors Sat 16-Mar-19 21:23:09

The link is absolutely fine.

If you have no problem with Nestle causing the needless deaths of thousands of babies which has been very well documented for about 40 years then don’t click on it.

MissKenton Sat 16-Mar-19 21:27:23

They are definitely different but I still love them! I could eat bars of the stuff because it’s like air!

Goldmandra Sat 16-Mar-19 21:29:53

It's a long time since I've eaten Aero because of Nestle's appalling record around infant formula.

Also, it contains palm oil.

Glad I'm not missing much!

BlueMerchant Sat 16-Mar-19 21:32:04

It tastes very strange. I think the mint one also tastes like something is missing.

Quintella Sat 16-Mar-19 21:35:35

When time travel is discovered, before whizzing off to Tudor time or ancient Rome, I will go back to 1986 and compare modern day chocolate bars to Chocolate of Yore. Modern chocolate will fare badly in this test.

The80sweregreat Sat 16-Mar-19 21:37:04

I had a ruffles bar today, used to be lovely and all raspberry and lush
not any more. mind you, the last one i had was about 1997!!
most chocolate is awful these days.

sparklefarts Sat 16-Mar-19 21:37:10

Erm, are you saying Nestle kills babies because it sells formula? confused

minesasaugagesupper Sat 16-Mar-19 21:38:35

Creme eggs are another. I distinctly remember not being able to bite the top off them as the chocolate was so thick and hard. Now you can just pull them apart with your fingers. sad

Sliding the deleted link had a message of an unsafe site , your link isn't the same wording.

I'm not trying to put people off the content , just don't want .corrupted links

70isaLimitNotaTarget Sat 16-Mar-19 21:41:19

Ruffles bars used to have delicious moist raspberry coconut ice , now they;re dry and brittle like too much icing sugar sad

Exactly that. You may want to research.

In summary, nestle started pusing formula in third world countries, selling it a “better” “scientific” etc. Gave HV free samples.

Didn’t think it through —or care— that in such countries clean water isn’t a given. Therefore dead babies from contaminated formula. Secondly these women are poor- and once they’d used up the free samples they couldn’t afford more, and as they’d not established breastfeeding started watering down formula to make it go further. Dead and ill babies from malnutrition.

The80sweregreat Sat 16-Mar-19 21:49:08

I was disappointed today, i picked up some ruffles bars in the pound shop and thought great, a bit of a treat after a busy horrible week and it was nasty and tasted of nothing. that will teach me to sneak chocolate in with the pound land special bargains!
maybe this is all being done to make us not eat all the wrong foods? get us all fit and healthy? who knows!

Goldmandra Sat 16-Mar-19 21:52:42

If you advertise infant formula and push it as healthier than breastmilk in countries with poor sanitation and low levels of adult literacy, babies die. Lots of them.

They aren't allowed to advertise in the UK but they can and therefore do in other countries. Totally unethical.

sparklefarts Sat 16-Mar-19 21:56:14

Thanks. Hadn't heard about that before. That's quite shocking.
(It's also shocking that this kind of thing never seems to make it to mainstream media properly)
