To ask what the best money you ever spent was?

I was using my hair straighteners today, and realised that it's been 15 years since I purchased them. They are GHDs and I bought them in 2004. Used almost daily and they were £100. At the time I thought this was quite expensive. But working out cost per usage it's pretty amazing! They're still going strong.

What was the best money you ever spent on something and why?

I asked a friend, and she said it was the registration fee on a dating site, as she is now married with 2 children

An extra night at a hostel on my gap year. It was a beautiful place. Met my now-husband the next day.

Buying my dog- he makes me smile every day.

My parlux hairdryer, about 25 years old now.

Also orthotic inserts, worked wonders for my back pain, cost about £200 about 20 years ago.

Didrikson coats, about £150-£200 each, I've had them for about 8 years, they fit great on my 6ft frame.

Also my insulated cafetière- the pleasure of coming back and finding there's another hot coffee ready a couple of hours after you had the first is wonderful

Really, really nice wardrobe. Makes me happy every morning when I fetch my socks. I pull them on and admire the wardrobe, bonus happiness if I need to fetch a jumper later on :')

Bean to cup coffee maker. Proper coffee in travel mug to sip on the way to work makes the whole day better and at weekends the frothy milk for cappuccinos feels like luxury!

My son ❤️ very expensive fertility treatment but worth it times a million! (I don't consider him a purchase btw but he did cost a lot!)

£100 on a private consultation for fertility treatment. The doctor gave us a 6 month course of Clomid that day. DD1 came along eighteen months later and DD2 two years later.

My 1st car, imported MX5 mk 1. I'd still have it now if some idiot company car driver hadn't run into the back of it and wrote it off. Insurance company wouldn't let me buy it back and it's still on the road 15 years later. I'm still annoyed as I can't track down the current owner.
