AIBU to feel unbelievably sad that Shamima Bergum’s baby has died.

The poor mite simply didn’t have a chance in the world he was born in to.

Sad

That’s been denied by the refugee camp.

The BBC is saying it hasn’t been confirmed and there are conflicting reports.

Has it been officially confirmed? Several conflicting reports

Ah the poor little mite. Sad

I believe I heard on the radio that it wasn’t true, but if I am wrong then I do agree with you it’s really sad nothing about the situation is the fault of the baby

On the other hand, is there any proof that she was ever pregnant and gave birth? I have no strong opinion either way, but has anyone seen the baby as I don't think I'd be taking her word for anything.

The SDF are saying it's true

You can feel sad for all the babies and children who have died, or worst have been suffering life-changing injuries, and from both sides. People try to help the orphan ones left in refugee camps, but it's not that easy.

BBC now saying the baby's death has been confirmed:

Wonder if the fickle media/public will change their views about Shamima now?

It's been confirmed. That's 3 dead children for a 19 year old.

It’s very sad. He didn’t deserve this.

If it's true then that is a real tragedy. The baby was innocent.

The comments I've seen on Facebook about this have turned my stomach. I'm so ashamed to be human sometimes.

I'm a cynic but if a baby really has died I'm sorry for the mothers loss

An awful lot of innocent babies have died, innocent children raped and murdered while Begum was busy building the caliphate.

To be clear, I am of the opinion that not allowing her back without proper investigations and procedures was potentially regrettable but the correct decision at the time.

But the poor baby didn’t have a hope.

That is terrible. I don't even have words.

How did the baby die?

Indeed, how did the other 2 die?

Very sad.

She can still stay where she is though.

It's very sad if a child is dead. However the only people to blame in this are Shamima and her husband.

Report
calpop · 08/03/2019 19:45

A baby that nobody saw and was covered up when she was interviewed. Now no longer needed/working to get sympathy. hmmm....

Report
Aaaahfuck · 08/03/2019 19:46

BBC are saying the baby is dead. It is really sad as a baby gets no say where it is born and who it's parents are. It also makes me think of all of the other babies and children who will have died in refugee camps or under seige.

How did the baby die?

The bbc news story says it was a lung infection.

3 dead babies at 19 years old.

Wouldn't be the case if she didn't leave her safe home and join a terrorist group.

Every sympathy for the babies. Absolutely non for her.

Skittlesss · 08/03/2019 19:47

Aww, that’s really sad. No matter what they’ve done, I wouldn’t wish the loss of a child on anyone.
