He is tweeting the date of international men’s day to every person who wittily tweets asking when international men’s day is. Soooo funny. And last year he raised over £50k! Tomorrow is international women’s day so worth starting to search Richard K Herring out on Twitter. Over £7k raised so far....

clicky link

can I ask what Refuge's position on women being, you know, adult human females, is before I donate?

@RiverTam Oh naff off with this rubbish again...

Thanks River for clicky link. I don’t know re position. I do worry about that too but decided in the meantime they are helping many many women so I did choose to donate anyway.....

Jizzle what? what the fuck? Questions not allowed, is that it?

OP - well, indeed. I just would like to know before donating, which I probably shall.

I’m not searching him up.

I’m sure he means well, but it’s international women’s day- not international male comedian’s day.

I'm sure he's well aware of that. His self-imposed job is to deal with the tedious men who still don't know that yes, there is also an international men's day. That seems like an ideal job for a male ally - a man talking responsibility for men's behaviour. And raising money for a refuge too - what's not to like?

I was terribly conflicted this morning because my first thought was that the funny man on Twitter will be back at it Grin I've made my peace with it now. Go Richard!!

I like what he does and don't have a problem with it. He's raising ridiculous amounts of money for a women's charity and he seems not to be a dick about it either, so fair play to him. I do find the tweets funny and get a little bit excited when someone is a good sport about it and learns a lesson. Grin

Thank you for the link.

Mum gives me £50 for my birthday, which is later this month, for me to donate to charity. I wanted it to go to support women who are victims of domestic violence and so this perfect Smile

The fact that Richard does this every year shows exactly why we need International Women's Day. Such entitlement.

He made the same point himself about women being the focus, not him, when he turned down press interviews last year and suggested they interview a woman instead.

He’s always been very supportive of women in comedy.

He’s been doing the 8 March Twitter thing for years and never got much traction for it until the press picked up on it. Just like U.K. celebrations of Intl Women’s Day itself.
