How can a father do this to his own son

How could he do it to any 3 year old, let alone his own son, just because he couldn’t control his wife anymore 😞

I saw this on the ITV news at 6pm. Shocking. It was reported that he was an Afghan man who had told his ex-wife many times that he believed in the honour killing system. A statement was read out from the wife saying she was already terrified for when he got out of prison in 8 years' time.

All too common that one partner victimises the child to control the other partner I am afraid

I also seen it on the news this evening. Sat with my husband and both in absolute horror that someone could do this to any child, never mind their own.
The planning the man and his gang went into (including one testing the acid on his own hand) adds another dimension of abhorrence.
78 years sounds a lengthy sentence but when you hear the father will be out in just 8 years it really is not enough - the child will be 11/12?
So many dimensions to this story but one of the most awful things I’ve heard.

I got the link to work and it is hard to believe anyone could do that.

I’m not usually one to go in for the whole ‘lock away the key’ thing but with this one the sentence just feels too lenient. Eight years (in reality) is just not approaching enough for this.

There needs to be some serious changes to sentencing in this country. 8 measly years, which in reality means 4 with 'good behaviour' for such an atrocious crime is letting that poor boy down. It makes me so so angry that men like this are allowed to continue their lives as normal after a short stay in prison.

He will do it again to another woman and child. What that poor woman must have gone through when she was with him and now to live with this 😞

Angry
Some people do not deserve to be called a parent. What a horrible excuse for a human being, and what a pathetic sentence.

Report
Sparklesocks · 06/03/2019 20:48

Truly horrific - it shows he sees his child as an object to hurt his wife.

Any chance they can revoke his right to live in UK? Preferably deport him before serving his sentence to save us £.

His poor ex and their DC Thanks

And why would the other 4 men go along with it, they should’ve told him what a shit of a human being he is, not go along with it

I am in the area, and we have been following this for months.
It is utterly incredible that this could be done, but the surrounding stories...men intimidating primary schoolchildren by lurking outside the school , the mundane place they chose to do this, the efforts made by the shop staff...all of it is too otherworldly and incomprehensible.

I just hope the poor woman has found some safety and a new life.

This is so shocking for us, and even more so because Worcester is a mostly kind, welcoming and friendly place.

What do you mean intermadating school children and lurking outside primary schools?

Not changing the subject, but there have always been unnatural fathers who have betrayed their children. I still can't get my head around the slave owners who fathered children with slave women and them sold the children

It’s one thing for a man to hate his ex-wife so much he’s prepared to throw acid in his own child’s face, but I found astonishing was he found a bunch of friends who also hated women so much they were prepared to carry out his plan.

This man and his outdated, completely warped notions of honour which led him to deliberately plot to maim his own child has no place in modern Britain. Fuck him off back to Aghanistan, and his accomplices. I am disgusted we've ever given asylum to such a poor excuse for a human being.

Apparently, they were originally planning to attack the little bit outside his school, and so scoped it out in advance to see where that would be an option.

I have no words

Very much so. A University student went missing last year and the turnout to look for him was amazing. Similarly last weekend nearly 5000 people turned up to be tested to see if they could be a stem cell match for a 5 year old who needs a transplant urgently.

This attack was truly shocking.

Why can’t he be named for legal reasons? Hmm I hate this country & it’s joke of a legal system at times, anyone who can do this to their own child just to have control over a person/situation is someone who doesn’t belong in modern society. The mum is scared already for when he gets out? She shouldn’t have to live like that.

@Abcdefuck It's to protect the anonymity if the child, the victim, not him.

I'm not surprised. Afghanistan isn't know for being nice toward women.

Because to name him would identify his ex wife and his children, including the victim. D’uh
