Although i dont think i could be arsed to chase anything less than a grand if it fell out the window just now.

I feel like shit. Everything is sore. My sinuses are blocked. The other day my temp was 39 on paracetemol and ibuprofen. I started to feel better to the extent i was able to do some studying at home today but now im floored. I think my temp has spiked again but the thermometer is downstairs.

Its all a bit meh though - no streaming nose. Just a bit sniffly. Dry slightly sore throat and slight cough but now i can feel it on my chest when i cough. Dont think its on my chest though.

I coughed up an alien earlier - i actually felt it drop onto the back of my tongue. A large marble sized solid green gunk i couldn't squash it - could it be my brain falling out?

All these vague slight symptoms but i feel ar deaths door.

Anyoneelse had this?

I have something very similar. The sore throat was really bad and still has not gone. I’ve come to the end of my self certificated sick leave but still don’t feel up to going back to work.

Yes, I too have the ailment that feels like flu but not bad enough but feels worse than a cold. It has stealthily invaded various parts of my body in turn, aching muscles, weakness, headache, sore throat, earache, cough, blocked nose and sinuses. Every time I think I must be over the worst it moves on, over a week now. I am fed up with sneezing, coughing and wheezing and have downed more OTC remedies than I have in years.

Could be sinusitis? It’s usually a “cold” that seems to be getting better over the course of 5-7 days and then suddenly wallops you for a second, worse round (fever, headache, post-nasal drip, dry cough, gross gunk coming out of your sinuses sporadically- sometimes bloodstained).

How long have you got symptoms? Longer than 10-14 days may warrant antibiotics if it is sinusitis. Nasal spray to decongest sinuses may help either way.

The cold strain circulating this winter has been really bad. I sprained a rib from coughing so hard and the cough still hasn't completely gone after 8 weeks.

Dp and dd had it - dp still struggling after two weeks. I am 3 days in and was hoping to go back to work tomorrow but i walk to the toilet and need to lie down Hmm

Absence is viewed dimly and we are expected to soldier on but its a physically demanding job and i cant face it. Feeling really quite anxious about it

I had this for almost a month over mid-December to mid-January. It was very debilitating. I was hobbling into work (only do 2 days per week) and sleeping the rest of the week.

Sounds like me too. Started with a cough and then a kind of flu-like thing, except nothing particularly stood out as hurting, I just felt completely and utterly wiped. I’m 5 weeks in and still not right.

Yep, sounds very similar to how I have been feeling for about a week. The aches came first, I was actually quite relieved when the sore throat kicked in as I knew then it was just a cold virus. It’s been a real bugger.

I'm just out the other side of this nearly 4 weeks later.

Good luck op, it's a fucking brutal virus.
