Mine haven't yet for the most part, my 12 year old does most of the time although maybe not in public and my 14 year old still does often too (and not only when they're looking for something)

My dgd has started using Mum recently, she's just 4, I'm sure my dc were still calling me Mummy when they were 5/6. Occasionally they still do, but that's more to do with them thinking they are funny than anything else.

DD hasn’t long turned 3 and I’d starting to use Mam instead of Mammy already Sad

15 year old calls me Mummy when it's just us. Mother (in a slightly sarcastic, haughty voice) when he's out or with friends. I'm definitely not "Mum", though.

My DS has never called me mummy. He's 6 soon. He has always called me by my actual name. Sad

DC2 age 11 and DC3 age 9 still do. DC1 age 13 doesn't.

Around 6/7 DD started switching from mummy to mum (and daddy to dad). I still get the occasional mummy but mostly it’s mum now (she’s 9). She will refer to me as mummy when talking about me to DH (eg: ‘mummy said I could watch that show after my homework’) but will address me as mum.

Some adults do still use mummy and daddy as terms so it might very much depend on where you live. I’m sure I read a thread on here a while back where adults using mummy and daddy was discussed and it did appear to be the norm for quite a lot of people.

How would they know your actual name? Isn’t mummy/daddy etc something that they learn? My DD knows I have another name but didn’t know this till long after she was calling me mummy.

My DD(3) calls me mummy 90% of the time. The other times it’s either mum or the nickname my DP calls me

School seems to have been turning point for DS -4 nearly 5.

All of mine 14,12 and 5 still call me Mummy at home. Mum in front of friends for the older 2.

I do get the occasional scathing “Mother” from the middle one if she’s pissed off with me.

Both stopped age 4/5 as they started school.

I still use Mummy for my mum, as she hates "mum".

I’m still mammy to DD 7 or mother with a raised eyebrow Hmm

I encouraged them to call me Mum from the get go.

I really dislike babyish words, even from babies!

I’m thirty and still call her mummy!! (Only to her though, she’s my mum to everyone else!)

Dd was about 6.
I much prefer Mum anyway, and she often calls me Mother, and I call her Childer.

I cringe when adults call themselves Mummy, or talk about Mummy friends.
It's ridiculous.

My eldest is nearly 12 and still calls me mummy, I don't actually mind, but I don't want his friends teasing him.

After infants I was oly Mummy if they were sick (early junior) or they wanted something. I was mum and still am tbh, although as a family we all have nn now. If we are being serious or formal I'm mum.

Dd is 14 and still calls me mummy and dh daddy. Except in company when we are mum and dad. But you can tell she feels awkward calling us mum and dad.

She isn't babyish, quite grown up and independent and mature and we are definitely not posh by any means. I think it's lovely and won't be encouraging a change.

She had always called her bio dad dad though, never referred to him as daddy. Dh (been in her life since she was 2) became daddy when she was 4 and it's stuck since.

10 and 11 and I’m still “mommy”. Not in public though. A West Midlands mommy not USA before anyone starts frothing.

Ours all call me mummy; the eldest is aged 26.
Most of our friends children still call their mothers mummy. They, like ours, would refer to their mother but call them mummy.

My husband and his siblings call their mother mummy. The eldest is 61 years.
