To buy a house on a bore hole?

We’ve seen a house we’re interested in buying. It’s on a bore hole. I’ve only ever had mains water before so wondered if anyone could advise.

What questions should I be asking the seller? Do I need a specialist to look at it before we buy, in addition to our survey?

Hi.. we moved to a house with a borehole a few months ago. You'll need to get it serviced once a year and also test the quality of the water every so often. This is dead easy, there are kits etc. And top up the chlorine every so often. Get the current owners to talk you through it and ask who they use to service etc. Crucially, make sure your solicitor asks if it's ever run dry or had any issues. But we've had no issues and also quite good that we're not subject to things like hosepipe bans as we own our own source. Oh, and double check re drainage/sewage outlet, it had to be a set distance away, but solicitor can check this. If you're in the surrey/sussex area I can dm you details for an engineer.

That’s really helpful, thanks so much. It’s in Yorkshire so a long way from Surrey xx
