If you could only ever have one which would it be? I’m going for baby carrots. Disclaimer I’m not vegan or vegetarian, I just love veg

Tryingtoholdittogether Mon 04-Mar-19 02:44:31

Aubergine. So many ways to cook it

Lovingbenidorm Mon 04-Mar-19 02:46:55

Cabbage!

Justagirlwholovesaboy Mon 04-Mar-19 02:47:11

Do you soak it first?

Justagirlwholovesaboy Mon 04-Mar-19 02:48:12

Cabbage is in my top ten!

Lovingbenidorm Mon 04-Mar-19 02:49:22

Cabbage with a roast and lots of gravy
Cabbage in a risotto with bacon
Cabbage and mash made into potato cakes
Cabbage served with bangers n mash
Cabbage 🤪

Lovingbenidorm Mon 04-Mar-19 02:51:44

I generally steam it.
Big fan of sprouts and spring greens too, think that’s allowed, it’s all cabbage!

Justagirlwholovesaboy Mon 04-Mar-19 02:52:41

@Lovingbenidorm can I please come to your house for cabbage 😂

Lovingbenidorm Mon 04-Mar-19 02:53:36

Trying I’m suspicious of a vegetable that you have to cover in salt for 1/2 hour before you can cook it🤨

Lovingbenidorm Mon 04-Mar-19 02:54:25

Yes indeed Just
I will be serving
CABBAGE

Justagirlwholovesaboy Mon 04-Mar-19 02:56:54

I’m so turning up on your doorstep expecting this for breakfast tomorrow!

Lovingbenidorm Mon 04-Mar-19 03:01:25

Ooooh 🧐 not sure we can cabbage at breakfast
There are standards you know
Time and place etc
My cat refuses to eat beef Felix in the morning
I don’t blame her, she’s not an animal

Do potatoes count? I love other veg but I'd miss the carbs too much. That and some of my favourite dishes have potato in so I'd be a bit screwed (that and chippy chips are just too big to lose).

Justagirlwholovesaboy Mon 04-Mar-19 03:06:56

@Lovingbenidorm now you are being snobbish, surely you can turn the humble potatoe into a breakfast treat???

Lovingbenidorm Mon 04-Mar-19 03:07:47

Yes potatoes count!
They are indeed a vegetable and therefore can be your choice
(A potato always tastes better with a touch of cabbage 😉)

Justagirlwholovesaboy Mon 04-Mar-19 03:09:43

Looking forward to a potato and cabage recipe. 😂

emeraldsparrow Mon 04-Mar-19 03:10:29

Unpopular opinion is coming... broccoli.

Lovingbenidorm Mon 04-Mar-19 03:10:39

Ok
I’m doing skillet eggs with cabbage hash ......mmmmm

Lovingbenidorm Mon 04-Mar-19 03:11:25

Broccoli 🤔

Lovingbenidorm Mon 04-Mar-19 03:12:15

I’m ok with tenderstem but not so sure about the big lumpy ones

dreichuplands Mon 04-Mar-19 03:12:24

You can make bubble and squeak with larger cabbages than Brussels. A fine potato and cabbage dish, also great for breakfast with a fried egg.

siestakey Mon 04-Mar-19 03:12:58

Broccoli. (Fresh not frozen!)

dreichuplands Mon 04-Mar-19 03:13:37

I think tomatoes are the most versatile veg ( unless they count as a fruit?)

Justagirlwholovesaboy Mon 04-Mar-19 03:16:03

Oh god tomatoes are a fruit and you are evil for bringing this up

Lovingbenidorm Mon 04-Mar-19 03:16:25

I really have to go now but just wanted to throw this one in there
If you could only eat food or drink beginning with one letter what letter would it be?
