Stressing myself out as I can see heartbreak ahead.

DD 17 has her first proper boyfriend. Basically she is smitten, him not so much. She does all the work, meeting up with him, he lets her down etc. She is constantly looking at her phone waiting for him to message then dropping friends, choosing to spend time with him. She is acting like a lap dog. The trouble is I can see what’s coming.....big fat heartbreak. My first boyfriend was exactly the same and even though it was over 25 years ago, I still feel hurt and embarrassed by the way I let him treat me. I have tried to speak to her, saying she must see her girlfriends more and not to be treated badly by anyone. She just tells me to mind my own business. I know I being completely pathetic, but I am really wishing she would get rid of him first, but that’s definitely not going to happen.

You need to get her to read articles (or memes at that age?) on Breadcrumb relationships and be frank and explain that it will hurt but she needs some self resepect as he isn't showing her any.

I have a feeling that DD's relationship is going the same way. I wish she would realise that she is being kept on the back burner.
