Had a bedroom slip up (I know it was stupid) and took MAP the next morning. Does anyone know how effective it is? I'm at mid cycle. So just worrying. I know the only way is to wait and see but some reassurance/experience would be great.

Also only a few months PP so hence the worry.

No experience, so just a friendly bump. So to speak.

I've taken it twice in the past, a few years apart. Condom split both times and I wasn't on any other form of contraception at the time.
I was fine (ie: not pregnant) both times, but I did get a heavy period a couple of days after with one of them.

My MAP experience is 6 years old... I found out from research that it’s basically useless if taken on the day you actually ovulate, which I did. I hope you get the outcome you want OP xx

It's very effective if taken within 24 hours - something like 95%. You'll probably be absolutely fine.

It's always worked for me although it does mess with my cycle.

Thank you so much for your replies. I'm a bit worried as I really don't want another just yet!!!!. Plus they were saying weight can affect it too?? Oh my goodness to the 6 year old!!

@holes. In what way? I'm only a few months post baby and started having periods pretty much soon as baby bleeding had stopped so will it be longer?

I've taken it (around the time of ovulation) and been fine.
As long as you took it the day after DTD it should be fine. Effectiveness declines quickly after that.

My MAP failure is 22...

They will never if it would truly be 95% effective because the reality is that most unprotected sec around ovulation doesn't result in conception anyway Confused

Sorry I can't be more positive! I know more people that have taken it and not ended up pregnant than the other way around though Thanks

@Fmlfml9 I've taken it twice, once my period came much earlier than usual, the second time it took a lot longer. I'm not sure why the difference but it just seems to mess with my cycle which is usually regular.

I've definitely had some fertile stringy mucus so does that mean it should be ok? Sorry to ask so many questions. It's a wonder I got pregnant with my firstConfused
