AIBU?

To ask where the best place to buy a bed is?

I want a good quality king size bed and mattress that won't cost the earth, but am happy to pay for something that means I can bounce out of bed act morning rather than having to roll out doubled-up from back pain (the back pain is pre-existing and exacerbated by the bed).

Where should I be looking? 🛌

Ikea. Firm mattress. I had slipped discs which were made much worse by soft bed.

This bed is best mattress I’ve ever slept on

Pretty sure it’s this one, but about 4 years since I bought it. Go to Ikea and lie down on all the firm ones Grin

Have you tried looking in a shop that sells beds?

I got a Simba mattress paid for over 12 months and a frame from a bed place. Mattress is best thing I have ever got def helped with my slipped dics and they do a 100 day trial.

Ikea for me too. Just fab bed & mattress, helped my dodgy back and paid over 12 months interest free.

Strangely I have considered that Tucobenedicto, however, I've bought several beds and mattresses via this method in the past and whilst they've seemed comfortable in the shop it soon wore off. Hence me looking for recommendations, particularly from those weak of spine like myself Grin

I like the sound of the 100 day trial kabanner.

Is the definite consensus that the firmer the better for back pain then?

Why don't you try a mattress that gives you a 90 day trial...not sure the name but they have advertised on tv..they could be expensive though..good luck

That might be my favourite ever bit of MN advice Grin

I got an orthopaedic mattress from John Lewis. Damned if I can remember the brand but I’m sure they’ll advise you.

Another vote for the IKEA Hamarvik firm mattress. Wonderfully comfortable and no aches in the morning. They aren't expensive and (apparently) guaranteed for 25 years!
