To think this cafe needs to rethink their message to customers?

Seen this on Facebook today from a cafe -

So we are a dog friendly cafe which is completely acceptable by health and safety as long as the dogs don’t cook your food or enter the kitchen 😡* so don’t give us a hard time if you don’t like dogs because we like dogs better than humans - note don’t give Vicky a hard time over happy dogs because Vicky will always defend the dogs*

Now I have a bit of a fear of dogs and wouldn't expect to see one in a cafe and I'd be a bit pissed off if I paid good money for food and drink only to be bollocked by "Vicky" if I didn't like a dog in my face hmm AIBU to think it's not a good message to tell your paying customers that they come second to another species?

I am going to book a long weekend in Cumbria in April and will definitely go to this café.

I posted on their facebook page and someone I know (but not very well) posted also and said they had been there with their dogs and loved it.

Lizzie48, ONE of the reasons we chose not to have children was because we felt the world was already overpopulated. You can believe it or not.

We also had seen too many marriages have problems because of children, a lot ending in divorce. In fact a friend's grandma said to us that if we wanted to stay as happy as we were we should not have children.

Another reason was that we felt the world was not a particularly nice place to bring children into. We feel that even more now. I am a worrier anyway so having children would just have ramped up my worrying and anxiety so much.

I don't honestly know how anyone can say the planet is not overpopulated. Yes I know we have an ageing population but you can't just keep adding more and more humans to it.

The UK is far too overcrowded with far too many people. Not enough housing, the schools can't cope, the hospitals can't cope, the GP surgeries can't cope, the trains can't cope. God knows the roads can't cope.

Done any car journeys recently? My DH drives quite a bit for work and we also do a 3 hour journey frequently to visit family. That supposed 3 hour journey hardly ever takes 3 hours. It is more often 4, sometimes 5 and has even taken 6 hours.

Last week one day my husband was doing a supposed 4 hour round trip. It took 7 hours. Any journey over about an hour takes longer, often much longer, than it should. Motorways are often at a complete standstill. The way we are going the whole country will be gridlocked in the not too distant future.

So all that without even talking about climate change.

I worry enough about the future for my nieces and nephews. Just glad I don't have my own children to worry about

The global birth rate is falling and has been for most of the last century. The reason we have lots of people is because of medical advances. Roads are busy because more people drive than ever before, not because of the slight increase in UK population over the last 30 years. And your dog, introduced to the planet solely as a companion for you, does more environmental damage than a non driving vegetarian.

I do agree with you about big families, I don't think that's a good idea at all with climate change. But I don't see how having 1 or 2 children will actually increase the population, I think, as it's balanced by the fact that everyone who is born will eventually die.

The population in this country is increasing due to immigration rather than couples procreating.

I do worry about my DDs' future, so I agree with you on that point.

Anyway, I'll bow out here. I apologise for sounding goady.

I agree - I can't see the point of adding more and more young people (who will also grow old . . . ).

i appreciate that for one, possible two generations, the poor old people will be struggling to find someone to care for them as there are too few younger ones to do the job (I would be one of those oldies), but then it would right and balance itself and careful population control,l would stop it getting top-heavy again.

These figures make interesting reading.
