According to the daily mail trans wings will now exist in prisons.

Karen Whites sexual assault of 2 women possibly 4 has apparently crossed the line.
There were I believe incidents of sexual assault of female prisoners by transwomen before this but they were ignored.

AIBU to be angry that women in female only spaces need to have multiple assaults against them by males before somebody says oops we got it wrong!!

If men are more likely to abuse others in prison, then of course more men will be abused in prison because up till now men couldn't abuse women.
I suspect if prisons has always been mixed then that wouldn't be true.

Well it makes a difference because if it's only making headlines because the perpetrators were trans, then that's not fair. If transwomen violence against women in prisons is higher than woman on women, then yes, it needs to be looked at.

I'll elaborate, explain and link to studies.

I meant, men are more likely to abused by women in prison than women are by men. In short, female prison officers are much more likely to sexually abuse male prisoners than male officers are to abuse female prisoners.

I believe there are several reasons for this. Toxic femininity is one. Women often don't believe that what they do is "as bad" when it comes to sexual assault. All to often I read replies on MN along the lines of "when men don't kill their partners at a rate of x a week then I'll care" etc. Because so many of us read these sentiments time and time again, we begin to believe that men are bad and whilst they maybe don't deserve to be abused, they certainly don't deserve any sympathy because we're the oppressed sex. My eldest son is a part-time bouncer (at Uni) and I'm frequently shocked by the tales he tells. Women grabbing his crotch, grabbing male customers, walking up to them and kissing them - all because we're told time and time again that men are all desperate for sex and being touched sexually and should be grateful for female interest. I think that this continues into prisons.
Another reason, I suspect is the massive imbalance between the sexes created by vocal feminists. We believe you etc. Painting women as victims of "the patriarchy" with the flipside being that men can't be victims. They're "in power".
