Really unhappy about the attitude of this place when something had gone wrong.

I can't get on board with the Reddit board though

Why announce it? You're bound to get people's backs up.

What are you referring to in regards to something going wrong?

Ok sorry I guess most aren't bothered by the attitude to yet another hack

Give reddit another go. It just takes a bit of getting used to.

How bloody rude.

MN isn’t perfect, but it’s the best there is.

No one will mind if you find somewhere else, truly.

MN isn't perfect is a bit of an understatement, hacks shouldn't be happening this often.

Ok will try redit another try..

It wasn't a hack, as I understand it. It was an update gone wrong.

Is not like the site has financial information attached.

I think some of the previous commenters may not realise the problems of this week - hence the pointing you to the flounce part of mumsnet...

I'm a little concerned about how secure things are after this week. Not that I'm active enough to be worried for myself, but some people may have really sensitive info linked to their accounts and it is quite alarming. Even for mundane little me though, a bit better security would be reassuring!

Not used many other sites. Babycentre used to be pretty good, but not been on there in years.

I guess you mean me, runostrich.

I am aware, thanks.

If someone wants to leave mumsnet because of a security issue, how would moving to the flouncers part of mumsnet help with that?! They would still be using, and registered on mumsnet...

Report
Anothertempusername · 07/02/2019 22:31

It wasn't a hack; also it's a free site.
Bye though

Report
RunOstrich · 07/02/2019 22:31

Ha! I just looked at the flounce part. Sorry Gotten . I thought it was a place annoyed people went to be annoyed before slinking back in. It's actually just a place where people declare they're leaving?! That's...weird.

userschmoozer · 07/02/2019 22:33

I'm not sure everyone realises how many security breaches there have been, and what's happened each time.

Reddit does have some advantages; you can block and mute other users, and the nested comments make it easier to have a conversation.

Report
GottenGottenGotten · 07/02/2019 22:33

Huh? Do you understand what flouncers corner is for?

Its for people to say they are leaving... Like the op is suggesting they want to do Hmm

Hacks and security cock ups can happen anywhere.

Pistonheads always strikes me as fun though. If I was forced to move I'd hang out there.

Tooldemont · 07/02/2019 22:37

I think lots are very unaware of just how many hacks there's been and how badly they've been handled..

IT WASN'T A HACK.

It was a system fuck up.

There is a really simple solution here, do not set up your profile with real details, I have a fake name, no other details, nothing to steal or be compromised only an email address I use for spam anyway.
