Escorting to pay for a course/quick cash?

There's a career path I want to go down but I can only get there if I have £1500 for the course. And I know I will get employed quickly as these skills from the course are really sought after.

I'm so poor. I have a 3 year old getting 15 hours free childcare. She will get 30 hours next term but I still pay for 10 hours on top per week so I can do all the required hours at my job. My partner won't help me financially despite earning so much more than me. He pays rent in his HA flat with dirt cheap rent in London. He also owns a flat and is a landlord bringing in a decent amount.

Im mid 20's with a lack of skills and education. Medicore gcses, poor A levels but good grades in my Access Course but its not a recognised qualification. Highest level of education is level 4, so 1st year of university. Worked in retail and call centres but only part time and I haven't had a consistent work history especially lately as I have a child.

I feel like I have too much pressure. Debts to repay, childcare costs and I hate the job I'm currently in (call centre). I have no savings, no pension and no prospects I sometimes think of ending it all.

If I make money from escorting only in the short term, I can buy the course and do a job I actually enjoy where I can move up the ranks and earn well.

I want to leave my "partner" but obviously I can't or I'll be homeless- no family to help and no money for a deposit or to move my stuff so I'm stuck here. I'm in the council's waiting list and bidding every week but I never get chosen. It's been 3 years.

Oh crickey op that sounds awful but I don’t think prostitution is the way to go

What do you suggest?

I have no other options. Nobody cares if me and DD were homeless. Actually, o would be sleeping on the streets whilst DD would be taken away from me. Nobody gives a crap not even "D"P's housing association. They all have other the properties. So much for helping the vulnerable. They're corrupt

Do you think you could live with being a prostitute, I know Women who have do e it, some have gone on to have mental health issues because of it.

If you are honestly thinking of 'endingvit' sex work isn't for you.

Do you live with your Partner, is the child is?

‘Escorting’? You realise you would actually be having lots of sex with men who viewed you as an object, right? They’d often be drunk, often be violence. And you’d have to do a hell of a lot of it for £1500.

The woman I know who did this out of desperation was beaten up so badly she ended up in hospital and very almost lost custody of her children. Social service and the courts don’t see prostitution as a stable home environment for a child, funnily enough.

X post.

OP you sound depressed and worn down.

Children and Families in the UK don't 'sleep on the streets'.

It might mean a period of unemployment, if you couldn't carry on working, but you have options.

Does the course not qualify for a Student Loan?

I think you need to get to a better place mentally amd that may mean a chat with your GP.

Oh OP, please don't turn to prostitution.

Can you do a free online touch typing course, and get your typing skills up to scratch? Then you can do some freelance audio typing (you can get second hand equipment for about £30) and build up a nest egg this way.

There are freelance sites where you can find audio typing work through, for quite a low rate in the beginning, granted. But you can do bits at home and save your money up slowly.

What is the course you want to do? £1500 doesn't buy a lot in the way of training nowadays.

Are you clear what escorting means. It is prostitution. Despite what others may tell you. I'm not making any judgements about that but you need to he clear what you are getting into.
Can you get a career development loan? There are a lot of Grant's available. Look on the turn2us website for a list of people who give Grant's for education. There are loads.
I'm sure you know it, but your boyfriend is a twat. If you have anywhere to go leave now and never go back.
It's great that you are trying to get yourself out. Take all the help you are offered. Speak to the course providers too, to see if they have bursaries/hardship funds or would come to an arrangement in repaying fees.
Good luck

How the hell is your ex in a HA flat but is a home owner? That’s against the rules where I live! (Misses the point of the thread)

Yes he is her dad. We live under the same roof. He won't offer any kind of security for me and DD.

I know is escorting is prostitution. I'm not eligible for a loan, I've looked it up. Besides the course is from home so not at a college, so I couldn't get one anyway.

He can get away with it because everyone else in the HA is also a homeowner.

OP, I’m an escort. Depending on your area, competition and how much effort you put into it, you could quite easily make £1,500 in a couple of weeks (around 11-15 1 hour bookings with clients depending on how you price yourself).

If you’re seriously considering this and have already established within yourself that you can mentally and emotionally cope with what you’d have to do, then I would strongly advise reading as much as possible on the SAAFE website and making use of NUM (National Ugly Mugs).

Only you know what your limits and boundaries are with sex. PP are right that there can be lasting psychological damage from doing this kind of work - so please do make sure you’re getting into this with a strong mind and an ability to disconnect yourself during sex.

You can earn a lot of money quickly, there’s no denying that, but it’s not easy by any stretch of the imagination and very few women are suited to it.

Try matched betting, you only need to start with £10 but can start with more if you have it. Give it a google

You can get loans for some courses at home
The open university for example takes people with no qualifications and you can get a student loan to cover your tuition and a bit over. And they are brilliant
If you can tell us the sort of course you are looking to do we might be able to offer sources of help.
Also, have you considered how your boyfriend will react if you are studying and bettering yourself. I know from personal experience men like that feel threatened by their partner's success. May be better to ditch him first though I am very aware that this is easier said than done.

Realistically though, your issue here is really your partner. He should be helping you.

Is there no way that you can get extra money out of your Partner?

What would happen if you stopped contributing so much etc?

Bombardier25966 · 05/02/2019 10:38

If you're comfortable with numbers you can teach yourself the AAT early levels from the textbooks, then you just pay to sit the exam.

I would caution that AAT doesn't guarantee you a job, especially with no experience. You'll be competing against accountancy graduates even for junior roles, and even more so if you wish to advance.

Have you looked at OU courses? They offer accountancy, and loans are available.

Credit card, pay day loan, credit union, borrow from a friend. I’d do all of these things before turning to prostitution.

Have you also considered that you may lose residency of your child, if your Partner decides to use it against you?

How would you cover it up etc?

I think you are thinking out of desperation, which is never good.

Ah dear.

First things first, I'd say speaking to a GP RE your thoughts of ending it should be a priority right now. Your GP may be able to put you in touch with some charities, as it sounds as though you're very vulnerable, and I suspect there's an element of financial control from your partner.

May I ask what the course is? And is it from a verified provider? I've had friends take nutrition diplomas that aren't worth the paper they're printed on.

Are there any other courses you could take that ARE eligible for government funding?

As for the escorting, search 'escorts' in the MN search function and read through the threads that come up. Some former and current escorts have contributed to them and it is quite the eye-opener.

And a PP's suggestion of looking for work via freelancing sites is a good one. Data entry, transcription...etc. There's another forum called WAHM and a freelancing section on MN. You won't stumble onto a get rich quick opportunity, but given that you seem incredibly vulnerable right now I'd say you may be better off taking a slow and steady route rather than putting yourself at risk.

A quick Google found quite a few providers for that course willing to do monthly fees. Check your options carefully
