Is this normal? I'm constantly washing towels.

God no. They are only damp, usually. Once a week is more than enough even less often in my house

Not very ecologically sound. They don't need washing after every use.

What a waste of energy, water, time etc. I use my bath towels just after I have cleaned myself, maybe you are doing something different!!

Not normal at all. Use them and hang them where they can dry. They’re not unclean after one use. Confused

Are these “ sex towels” ? Wink

Even in a hotel they no longer change the towels every day. You are being unreasonable and making work for yourself. Hang them nicely to dry (near a radiator is good in the winter) and reuse them. Of course if it get's dirty or smelly then wash it. Otherwise about once a week is fine (you might want to build up to this. :) ).

Ridiculous behaviour

You’re making so much work for yourself! You’ve just cleaned yourself then dried off with a towel, there just damp rather than... sullied! The exception is any small boys sent to wash hands or faces then they need to go straight in the wash Grin

Not sex towels no Grin
Point taken it's not ecologically good and I must stop it but do you have a different towel for each person or share them ? (we're talking with teenagers here not little ones)

We each have a towel - I hate sharing them so we each have our own colour! We wash them weekly.

Of course you have a different towel per person! But they do not need washed after every use! That's madness. It's drying something that's just been cleaned...

DH and I have a towel each, but there's no children in this household. I suppose if a family of 6 used the same towel on one day it might need a wash, but that is a singular towel.

Each has their own towel. Most people use them to dry their freshly cleaned bodies, so no, they do not need to be washed because they are a bit damp. They should be put somewhere suitable to dry though and not left on bathroom floor.

Ok I 'm going to get one colour per person and wash weekly. Thanks

Agreed. Where are you putting all these towels to dry out though? (I got a teeny bathroom)

It’s ridiculous and absolutely awful for the environment!

You use a towel once you’re already clean! How dirty do you think they get?! If they’re so dirty they need washing after one use then you’re not washing yourself properly in the shower/bath!

It’s like changing and washing your clothes every ten minutes because they’ve been used oh the horror

Ok I am taking on board that it's ridiculous and bad for the environment and vowing to change my ways. But its AIBU so I might get told that a hundred more times of course Smile

They do in every hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

But no, it’s weird to change after every use imo.

Mine to on bannister. We actually share them, but have small kids so they're not sweaty or manky. Once they're older we'll have to change that!

Yabu, we all use the same ones- put them on shower rail after each use.

Hang them on the bedroom doors?
