AIBU?

To think Wilkos are taking the pee?

Saw some lovely throw blankets in there for the house. One burgundy and one mustard. Both identical aside from colour, neither marked as being reduced etc.

Burgundy- £8.
Mustard - £25!!!!!

Taking complete advantage of the mustard craze. Like I say no markdowns, no "this season/last season". Would totally understand in that case, or if the difference was only a couple of pounds. But more than triple?!?!?

Yes, I bought a grey toaster. Twice the price of the other colours.

Asda and dunelm have mustard (ochre) blankets for about £5/6

The burgundy one is old stock, you'd have paid £25 for it a year ago. The mustard one is new stock.

Not taking the pee. Supply and demand.

You'd have to pay me to have something mustard coloured in my house (possibly a throwback to a hideous mustard coloured kitchen I had to endure in my childhood home).

Going to nip to my local and see if they've got the blue or burgundy in stock. Bargain!

I can't see the issue to be honest. A retailer sells a thing that people want at a price they are willing to pay. One colour is more expensive than another because it's more trendy at the moment. Shocker.

The burgundy is definitely not old stock. Both have exact same wrappings on etc.

Pee? It's piss isn't it

Burgundy is nicer than mustard. Just choose if you want to spend more or have a different colour. They're a retail outlet, you don't have to shop there.

Retailer sets its own prices. I don’t see how it’s piss taking.

Haha, 1970s kitchen per chance ? I too remember Smile

We had white with these mustard type circles on it . The decade taste forgot .

Is mustard this year's 'in' colour?

Maybe mustard coloured dye is very very expensive compared to burgundy .

Bloody hell, that's outrageous! Fuming on your behalf! Anyone would think they're trying to make a profit or something, how very dare they??? Everyone KNOWS that retailers are making huge profits left, right and centre and can most definitely afford to give away stuff cheaply. Ridiculous.

Hmm

Same reason the black and navy jumpers are never in the Boden sale but the green one with pink and orange spots always is

I know the throws you are looking at. The chunky knit Pom Pom and the burgundy and tael are £4 not £8 as they are discontinued items so the last of the stock is reduced. The mustard is not going to be discontinued so no reduction.

Mustard-lovers are asking for it. It's instant karma.

Burgundy and mustard, are you in Griffindor OP?

None left in my local.

And the staff confirmed they're old stock and the new colours (including mustard!) are replacing them.

I love mustard as a colour! I have mustard shoes. I remember the 1970s as predominantly orange and brown.

Taking complete advantage of the mustard craze.

How dare they!!! A shop....selling fashionable/desirable stuff for a higher price than unfashionable/less desirable stuff. How do they sleep nights?

If this is allowed to continue, it won't be long before a house in Kensington will cost more that a similar house in Grimsby.

Wilkos sell their ultra soft mustard throw for a fiver which is the same as the other colours in the range.

Wilkos don’t always mark stuff that is reduced or move it to a reduced area. The price ticket is changed and you might see a yellow line through the code on the shelf. Wilkos always has clearance items and space is limited.

Burgundy is a winter colour, yellow is a spring colour - shops are getting rid of winter stuff and getting spring/summer ranges in.
