To think you don’t bloody sneeze in public?Probably get flamed for this but I absolutely detest people sneezing openly in public. It spreads germs and it’s NOT THAT HARD to internally sneeze as in like hold yourself back when you sneeze!

What about you hygiene pet peeves?

Another one is LICKING THE SUPERMARKET BAGS....why?! Why would I want you to slurp on your finger and then use your saliva to lubricate my bag and then continue to put my fresh produce into said bag. EW EW EW.

PS. Don’t say people can’t help sneezing, because unless you are challenged in someway , you ABSOLUTELY can.

Internally sneeze?

I can’t help sneezing. If I am ‘challenged’ in some way, it’s the first I’ve heard of it but willing to accept I have sneezing related issues.

The pressure caused by internal sneezing, is very bad for the brain.

Nothing wrong with sneezing into a tissue though.

What?! People for the most part can’t control sneezing.

Oh yeah sorry my pet peeve - people who judge others for involuntarily sneezing.

if you don't want a supermarket bag, bring your own bag :-)

Sneeze into your elbow. Sneezing without trying to block it somehow is horrible. I can't hold a sneeze in-sorry!

Supermarket licking of bags will soon be a thing of the past when they get rid of all 5p bags.

Well... sneezing without covering your mouth/trying to sneeze in a direction where someone else is not standing is very rude (but apparently common- happens almost daily on my commute HmmConfused) But internally sneezing.... not everyone has this skill I'm afraid

A kittle sneeze can be internalised but if someone walks past with a perfume etc that sets off my allergies it absolutely can't. I can only imagine you only have little ladylike sneezes.

I do however use a tissue

How can you internally sneeze. As long as people put their hand up to cover their nose mouth it's fine.

Do you have unusual issues surrounding germs? Potentially ocd?

As someone with allergic rhinitis and hay fever, yes it is sometimes possible to internally sneeze, but many times it is not possible due to the strength/force of some sneezes, or the fact of up to 3-5 coming together on very quick succession.

It is generally possible to put your hand in front of your mouth to block them as much as possible- but not always to keep them from coming out.

  1. WYF is an internal sneeze? Surely that could break a rib?
  2. What kind of supermarket do you visit where there's folk licking bags?

It can explode your throat so no, you shouldn't hold in sneezes.

Keeping in a sneeze can be really dangerous

I'm with you OP - I used to have this argument with a friend who freely sneezed all over the place, she argued that 'internal sneezes' are somehow bad for you. It's just a simple way of not spreading snot all over the place!

I can’t seem to not sneeze when I need to sneeze. I have tried to stop because it isn’t always appropriate (driving is one!) but sometimes I can’t stop it happening

What is the magic internal sneeze that I am clearly failing to master

How can you internally sneeze you kinda keep your mouth closed, but it only works with small girly sneezes not proper big womanly sneezes 🤧 😂

Internal sneezing just means stifling a sneeze so you don't quite let it out.

It's bad for your brain, your throat and your ears though.

Wait who licks YOUR supermarket bags? The checkout person? In my local supermarket they just chuck bags at me and continue to throw groceries down the wee metal slide....
