We have finally deciphered that "those things that you go crash" are cymbals - FML
This is the only thing he has stated that he wants.
AIBU to think that I will be buying them over my dead cold body.....

Oh dear. Can you find some quieter plastic /wooden ones???

MamaDane · 14/12/2018 14:53

He's 2.5 he'll probably get interested in something else a month from now. Just give him something you think he would enjoy.

Whoopsies · 14/12/2018 14:53

My ds aged 5 has some he could pass along. No, really... take them!!!!

BunsOfAnarchy · 14/12/2018 15:00

Can they quietly disappear after a few minutes days and hopefully dc has got bored and forgotten about them?

Elfinablender · 14/12/2018 15:02

Buy them, leave them at Grandma's.

IHaveBrilloHair · 14/12/2018 15:02

Oh but the birdies right at the bottom of the garden would love to hear them, therefore he must only play with them there Wink

JustABetterPlayer · 14/12/2018 15:03

As above, keep them at a relatives house (From experience expect a drumset from said relative the following year!)

£6.99 full band set including things that go crash!! 😁

Do it, he will love it!

Seniorcitizen1 · 14/12/2018 15:16

Buy them - he will soon get bored of them at his age

ChocolateTearDrops · 14/12/2018 15:18

Find a toddler percussion group like Jo Jingles?

IamSusan · 14/12/2018 15:19

if you are in a flat or a semi, I probably wouldn't. If you are in a detached house, yes, give them to him and go in the next room when he's playing with them.

ladydickisathingapparently · 14/12/2018 15:20

Aw, get them! He’ll be so happy.

abacucat · 14/12/2018 15:21

I would get them - easy for me to say I know. But I don't think you ever want things as an adult like you want things as a child.

gamerchick · 14/12/2018 15:21

Don't do it.

CrookedMe · 14/12/2018 15:23

You know you have to do it Grin

It's a shame though, because usually you can get rid of the batteries and claim annoying toys are broken. But these might last for years

Bluewidow · 14/12/2018 15:23

We have a drum, guitar the lot for my older child. She wants to be a rock star, so I gladly encourage it.

I think I would have loved cymbals when I was a child [longing look]

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/12/2018 15:26

Look on the bright side , at least he hasn't asked for a puppy.

Pity me who's 19yo DS has two guitars. Twice the noise potential (luckily he can only play one at a time )

DontDribbleOnTheCarpet · 14/12/2018 15:28

I'd buy them, but when my 5 year old asked for working bagpipes, he got those, so I may have poor judgement! Sadly, he didn't have quite enough puff for the pipes, but at least I wasn't blamed for that.

KeepingEveryoneSafe · 14/12/2018 15:35

@70isaLimitNotaTarget my 15 yo ds has 2 fenders, a bass guitar, an acoustic guitar, a ukulele and 2 bloody trumpets! He plays them every day! 😱 he's very good though so it's not so bad.

AndItStillSaidFourOfTwo · 14/12/2018 15:36

Of course get them, FFS! Any interest in music should be encouraged. Putting up with noise is part of parenting.

DontDribble When kids learn bagpipes they start off with a chantry, much easier to blow and less loud. Then once they have mastered the technique and got old enough, they move on to bagpipes.

bengalcat · 14/12/2018 15:39

Ah mean - buy them

Sitranced · 14/12/2018 15:41

Get him a little robot monkey with miniature symbols.
