Cries.
Have relative staying over. Never usually an issue but they are having a really shit time at school and has wet the bed. Sad

The quilt has took some of it but the brand new mattress has took it too.

What's best to use so the smell doesn't stay. I can't afford to replace a brand new mattress.

Bastard schools. Angry

Maybe a product for cleaning up after pets?

You can get a spray in pets at home that breaks down the smell with enzymes. If you saturate the area with that and then leave it for 10-30 minutes then wash with soap and warm water. The smell should go. I can't remember what it's called but it's in a turquoise bottle.

Most supermarkets will sell enzyme cleaner for urine smells in the pet aisle. Have you any bicarbonate of soda? You can cover the stain with that if it's still damp and it will draw some of it out. Leave as long as poss then vacuum. The pet cleaner is the best thing though.

Thank you! Will that work when it's already dried as obviously I won't be able to get one until the shops open at 9am?

The pet spray will. Read the directions on the bottle but usually you fully saturate the area then blot with kitchen roll and leave to dry. Can you put a towel over it for tonight to dry and soak up as much excess as possible?

Do you have any nappies in the house? A nappy is great at soaking up urine, you could use it absorb as much from the mattress as you can. Or sanitary pads!

No nappies in the house.
I've cleaned it with soap and water and put a towel over for tonight until I can get to the shop in the morning. Poor kid is devastated :(

Bicarbonate in a little water to make a thick paste and then scrub the mattress. Dry with a hairdryer. Then vacuum off the powder.
