To walk into the hospital

Not sure what to do, so maybe looking for some advice more than anything.
My partner had a really bad ear infection nearly 4 weeks ago, the pain went 2 weeks ago however he still can't hear out of his left ear-he has explained to the doctors he has seen that he has had this before and he was admitted to hospital where they had to clean out the ear, doctors have all completely ignored this apart from being told on Monday to give it another 3 weeks and if he still can't hear then go back to the doctors-I think 2 months of no hearing is quite extreme and the doctors should be doing something more to help?!
What would you suggest we do? Would we BU to walk into the hospital? We are going away on Friday and it's really worrying him

Unless it's an emergency A&E attendance you are going to be wasting your time. Patients who randomly turn up without an appointment do get sent away, a doctor and a clinic room can't simply be conjured up at a moment's notice.

I had severe hearing loss after an infection and it took 4-6 weeks to get is back to around 80%, I have never regained the final 20%. Yes it's worrying but the drs telling you to give it time is probably the only thing that needs to happen. If the infection has cleared the body just needs to heal.

My DD has had severe infections/burst eardrums from little and had hearing loss. Only now at a check up a year later and no infections for a good few months has her hearing tests come back normal.

I think it’s a wait and see for a while yet definitely not a hospital job.

Yes you would be unreasonable. It can take a few weeks for an ear drum to heal after an infection, so nothing anyone can do, and it's not an A&E issue at any rate.

That's great thanks for the advice everyone! Will leave it the 3 weeks and then see what happens!

I only ask because he's had the issues before where he's been sent to hospital for them to be cleared that's happened twice...
